I just really wanted to see if Ken Shamrock still had any fight left in him.

I have seen his last few fights and the answer is sadly no. He has been knocked out in the first round by nobodies.

Did he have fights after Ortiz, I could of sworn that he was gonna retire after that fight, maybe he meant retire from UFC, :lol

yeah he fought buzz berry and got knocked out. and the ufc sorta retired him, against his own will, but prob for the better..:lol

you seem to be mistaken. Arlovski actually "fought". kimbo couldnt even make it out of the gate. :lol

No mistake here bro. I meant what I said. Any fighter can lose on any given day. Some lose by decision and some get knocked the ^^^^ out in the first few seconds.Remember the first St.Pierre VS Matt Serra??? I rest my case. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Is that not clear? Like I stated I am no fan of Kimbo but I respect him as a fighter. Anyone who gets in the cage or ring or octagon has my respect. I train BJJ at Big John McCarthy's and see how the MMA guys train and I have only big respect for them. nash you are a Martial Arts guy right? Where's the respect bro?

I respect true MMA guys but I don't respect Kimbo one bit. He gets way overhyped as an elite MMA fighter because he beat a couple of nobodies but he isn't. He isn't a martial arts guy, he is a street fighter that is in it for a big paycheck. He had EliteXC and CBS bent over a barrel when Shamrock got hurt. He might be doing some training but if he respected the sport, he would have taken the fight straight up and not held the company hostage for an extra bonus just to take the fight and save the card.

Uh , who ever said he was some elite fighter. I have never heard that. But he draws viewers and thats what brings ratings.Just like Brock Lesner in the UFC. As for trying to get a big paycheck , this is America and he can negotiate for whatever he can get. Get real bro, EliteXC and CBS were not held at gunpoint when the contracts were signed. I do know that Kimbo is training with BAS RUTTEN which is going to help him out. Listen , it may seem like I am defending Kimbo but all I am trying to convey is the guy is a badass. I sure as hell respect him as a fighter , I don't like him as a person as he seems a bit disrespectful and condescending towards other people. I will just leave it at that. :D

:lecture:lecture:lecture what he said. i wouldn't want to fight kimbo because he'd probably kill me, but in no way is he an "elite fighter." he got hyped on youtube because he beat a bunch of random guys in street fights. and wasn't he sponsored by the MILF hunter in the beginning??? :monkey3 he's a brawler and that's it. i was watching the fight that night and pretty much said he was gonna get knocked the F out. unfortunately, Shamrock wasn't up to the challenge so they filled for him with a replacement. and the replacement dude dropped Kimbo with the "ultimate punch" from Hot Rod.

Kimbo got his ass kicked by a guy with pink hair that no one had ever heard of. The guy wasn't even in his weight class was he? There is nothing to respect about that palooka!

I do respect a lot of martial artists. However this is one big thing that some friends and I have discussed in the recent past.

People seem to forget that the term for "MMA" before it all got HUGE was "NHB" or No Holds Barred fighting. IMO the term MMA was put in place because now the sport has evolved and become more organized and streamlined. When it was NHB, it was basically guys off the street who thought they could fight, enter the ring and brawl each other until someone got messed up. This is what I place Kimbo Slice in....the NHB category. Imo he is NOT a martial artist and doesn't need to be a martial artist. So for anyone to call him so, I'd have to just disgustingly shake my head at that.

Kimbo is a big guy...his body structure is built like a tank...compact and bulky in which his target zone is pretty much obscured once he puts his hands up. He uses this to his advantage and also plays off of the intimidation factor a lot.

The reason Im laughing at Kimbo in this last fight is pretty ironic because the whole reason he is as popular as he is now is because of fighting guys off the street which gives us the impression that he knows nothing about them or how they fight to begin with. The same thing happened in this fight when Shamrock could not make the fight. He got signed up to fight someone who he knew nothing about, BUT he had to be compensated with a bonus signing extention just to take the fight only to end up with him being knocked out in the first 5 seconds of the fight.

It is clear to me that a lot of the guys Kimbo fought in the past on youtube etc were pretty much nobodies that were there for Kimbo to have target practice. If any of you have seen the fight with Gannon, Kimbo lost that fight but Kimbo's people made some BS excuses about Gannon breaking rules. What rules?! it's a street fight.

Going back to the MMA vs. Martial artist thing. Imo MMA is slowly but surely hurting the martial arts world. Why do you ask? Simply because MMA is turning Martial arts into more of a circus than a discipline. It's more of a sport than a discipline. Dont you ever notice that every Tom, ^^^^, and Harry on the street nowdays are wearing TapOut shirts or some MMA branded apparel? You look at these guys and it's clear as day that these chumps don't know a lick about fighting or self-defense, yet they feel like they are the ^^^^ because they can wear TapOut T-shirts and Affliction, etc.

To answer the last sentence in the quote above...Find me a real martial artist and I guarantee you i'd have some sort of respect for them. But if you're pointing at Kimbo slice, i don't think that he deserves that kind of respect.

Kimbo is overhyped,he is dangerous for sure, but i wont say he`s good until i see him in a ring with a good allrounded fighter, and ive seen Kimbo`s fights.

Which weight class is he anyway?

For the most part I agree with you , but I never stated that Kimbo Slice was a quote "Martial Artist" end quote. I am just saying and will stick with my opinion that I respect anyone that steps into the Octagon , cage or ring to fight another man.

Kimbo should have never been in there! I agree 100% with Nash. Most of these guys (Most not All) are nothing more then Brawlers that get singled out once they meet someone with some Skills. I also agree that everyone has a Punchers chance in the ring... Which makes this a sport not Martial Arts.

MMA does not = Martial Arts. ;)

not always,i dare to say that the newcomer Brock Lesnar will do good in the UFC even if he doesnt have any bjj background,he is a wrestler, and started to work on his striking a year or two agoo.

The proof is when he owned both Frank Mir and Herring because he is too damn strong for them,he was just lying over them pounding.Frank Mir got lucky with his leg lock on Brock...

who cares how kimbo fights :lol its good to see a street fighter against a martial arts man. when you look at the 2 u think kimbos gonna knock the smaller guy out. just goes to show size isnt everything, training and the way you fight is :lecture

Who watches TUF. That blonde haired 155 pounder dude and that Hilo boy is a punk. Hope they get their butts wooped.

:rock :rock yes, i have the nick ganon fight saved on my iphone. if you watch towards the end of the fight Kimbo can barely stand up straight. he's spent, from most of the guys in the UFC they have awesome stamina..not Kimbo. he's mostly go in, stand there, throw bombs until the other guy's face falls off. and Kimbo's guys were just pissed because he was getting worked. exactly what you say, there are no rules in a street fight. they were getting mad because ganon was throwing knees. sorry, but there's no ref to call the fight or take off points for this so let it fly.

IMO, kimbo was blessed with a good body structure and punching power and that's about it. I dont see any sort of "talent" in his repertoire.

Just wanted to say that this weekend is going to be awsome and is going to lead up to a really good pay-perv view fight!!!!! Just if anybody doesn't know, diego sanchez isn't fighting Thiago Alves anymore, Josh Koscheck is filling in for him!!!!:rock:rock2:rock:rock2:rock:rock2
