I hope so. I think Overreem should just stay in Japan and keep fighting K1 if thats what he wants. Its been way to long since hes defended the title. I dont hate him, hes a beast, but just been way to long between fights.

Well Scott Choker allowed him to fight in K1 supposedly because Overeem had no one to fight. :rotfl

Brett just has that nice everday guy type story so Im pulling for him. I havent gotten the chance to meet him, but he seems like a really humble guy. I seen him at the Strikeforce event in Miami, but there was so many people around him didnt get to make it through.

I saw him in an interview and he seemed that way. He didnt boast about how well he did against Fedor or his punching power or anything. Just said that he would like to win. Humble guy.

Couple interesting things..

Overeem vs. Rogers

https://www.mmafighting.com/2010/05...ett-rogers-may-not-be-drug-tested-for-strike/

Alistair Overeem and Brett Rogers may be fighting for the Stikeforce heavyweight title in St. Louis on Saturday night, but it doesn't necessarily mean they'll have to undergo pre or post-fight drug tests to do it.

Despite the title being on the line, and despite widespread questions about Overeem's growth in recent years (including a remark from Rogers about his opponent's "eastern diet"), Tim Lueckenhoff of the Missouri Office of Athletics confirmed that there is no guarantee that any particular fighter will be tested for banned substances, championship bout or no.

"The Missouri Office of Athletics is committed to insuring that MMA events are conducted in a fair and safe manner," Lueckenhoff said via email. "Contestants are required to submit proof that they are not infected with the HIV virus or hepatitis B or C virus. In addition, we have authority to require any contestant to submit to a drug test or a medical exam.

"Failure to submit to the drug test, or pass the medical exam may result in our refusal to allow the contestant to participate in the bout, or we may take disciplinary action against their license. Information related to our directive that a contestant submit to a drug test or medical exam in not public information unless we file an action seeking discipline of their license."

So what does that mean?

For one, just because Overeem has returned to the U.S. to defend his belt, that doesn't mean he'll necessarily face a stricter screening process than he did in Japan. For another, we may never know for sure who was and wasn't tested for this event unless their sample comes up positive, or there is some other issue regarding the test.

Looks like when Overeem assured people that he and Rogers would both "have to pee," he wasn't accounting for Missouri's somewhat secretive testing procedures.

:slap Pretty much every other state that sanctions MMA has mandatory drug testing for 1. Championship fights and 2. Main Event participants (regardless if a belt is on the line). Then they do random tests on a few other fighters on the card. Missouri doesn't. They're more concerned with fighters being sick (HIV, hepatitis B or C) than they are with fighters juicing and using illegal substances. Kinda ass backwards.

Koscheck vs. Daley

Well looks like Daley DID knee Koscheck. Here's a supersized GIF.

Everyone focused on the huge left knee Daley obviously missed, but that wasn't what Koscheck reacted to. He got hit (illegally) with a short right knee. And you can see in the GIF Kos' head goes back and he immediately reacts to the hit while Daley is still throwing the left knee. It wasn't a really big shot either.. but it WAS illegal because Koscheck was still on the ground and did open up a small cut on Koscheck (bridge of the nose).

I'm sure its just a coincidence that Overeem, who supposedly uses roids, is fighting in a place that doenst care if people are using them. Overeem should just hand over the title.

And I cant see the Daley knee pic. Another knee seems possible since I remember Kos's nose bleeding and I couldnt figure out why.

Yeah, I like him for that reason too. I jumped on his bandwagon when he called out Kimbo. What a massacre Kimbo vs Rogers would have been.:lol Maybe we can see it now that Kimbo is available again.:yess:

Same here man, when he was calling out Kimbo wondering why no one was paying attention to him is when I became a fan also. Tons of potential in that dude, i hope hes wearing that belt after Saturday.

I used to hate Josh, but when he started improving I started to become a big fan of his. I think hes a good fighter who knows how to play the game and get things going in his favor. No different than when Aoki crys and complains to the ref over in Dream.

I will say while Josh is a cocky SOB, he usually backs it up and I have no problem with the ones that can back it.

I'm not buying that right knee, he faked that injury.

He WAS hit. The thing is, Did that knee do any significant damage?

Hell No.

Could Koscheck have kept fighting?

Hell Yes.

Did Koscheck act like a little girl and whine to the ref to either get a point deduction/DQ?

Absolutely.

No different than when Aoki crys and complains to the ref over in Dream.

Agreed. Aoki does the same BS.

I can't wait for st Pierre to serve his ass...

You left out "Again". He already beat him before.

Probably,he did so against Anthony johnson as well,Daley`s knee WAS planted in Koscheck`s face although it might not have done any damage.Koscheck was down so he used that as an excuse to get up.
