I never noticed this thread before :D

Coenen is really getting the VIP treatment there!

Anyone bothered with ufc this weekend? Weak card (compared to some). Its getting a lot of flak but I'm still looking forward to it...

Me too not a massive Bisping fan. Akiyama had a great fight against Lieben but as much as Lieben is a tool he's a great fighter, esp coming in late...

Hardy's got a great style I like the punchy guys :lol Its just more exciting, his wrestling needs serious work to be a true contender though GSP made bits of him...

Yeah Im hoping Sexiyama comes off with the win as well. Yea as for a weak card well as noted its free so they had to do what they can for the overseas UFC's. I'll be watching regardless, overall these should be good.

Yeah I forgot about it being free in the states, I pay for the channel as opposed to per event if that makes sense.

Because there is a high possibility of someone getting KO. :yess:

Yeah its like paying for HBO or Showtime except the channel has PPV events.

No,theres no ppv thats the thing, I pay for the channel and the events are free/included in that price....

Yeah I get it. lol I'm just saying that the events are normally PPV for everyone else. That is why I used HBO as an example. :wave

Tonight is TUF :hi5: Hope Kos gets over himself and his obsession with GSP.

daikkenaurora means all the events that are PPV here are "free" on the channel you pay for (ESPN right?). So while people here have to pay like $59.99 per event.. you pay a flat fee yearly for the channel which includes all those events.

The thing about overseas cards from the UFC.. they're usually filled with talent that's big in that area. So for the England events the talent is mostly from England. Not big draws here in the states.. but those names usually attract a nice amount of people for the live show.

Yep, that is it.

And the UFC oversea cards are always filled with fighters from that area. Doesnt mean the fights are going to be bad. (not saying you think it will suck).

Yeah when I visited Korea they have a sports channel sort of like ESPN that shows UFC free and UFC Unleashed type shows. Basically recaps of events and interviews and such. It was pretty cool to watch it even though I couldnt understand any of it. Most of the show I seen revolved around Kim Dong Hyun and Sexiyama.

Yeah thats it. Only problem is I dont get TUF, espn classic shows all the older ones but for some reason not the current series :dunno

As far as the UK shows, I dont really mind them showing the local guys cos its all about increasing the popularity of mma in general over here. It'll happen but it just takes time. For example I was just watching the build up to saturday there and Joe Rogan was saying that Bisping is the biggest mma fighter in the uk which is way off, the biggest is Alex Reid and thats only because he's married to Jordan :banghead :banghead

In case you've all been spared her in the states shes a page 3 model, plastic surgery horror show and all around great role model :D
