Instead of making matches so far out in advance they should just tell they guys to be ready. I know they need to build drama for the big fights but so many get cancelled anyway.

FX and FUEL are going to be your main sources if it isnt a PPV. Last Fridays TUF finale was on FX. The occasional FOX airing will happen, but they'll make sure you know about that.

In case anyone cares, UFC just signed a deal with EA sports.

Chalk up yet ANOTHER thing Dana said he would never do. In fact, the vitriol he spit towards EA was hilarious once they signed the contract with the other MMA companies.

Oh Dana...

Actually that's not correct Bill.

The UFC didn't go to EA, EA purchased the gaming rights from THQ (who are in financial trouble). To put it in perspective:

EA Sports MMA sold less than 500,000 units worldwide on both the Xbox 360 & PS3.

UFC Undisputed 2010 (released the same year) sold 2.5 Million units worldwide on both the Xbox 360 & PS3.

And just in general, all the UFC games THQ put out sold millions. So the UFC didn't need EA, but obviously not vice-versa since EA was the one who went to THQ to buy the gaming rights.

And who can blame them!? Zuffa owns Strikeforce (which was the centerpiece for their first MMA game). :lol

You're right. Just checked it out.

Still then, Dana must be eating a tad bit of crow after saying he would never work with them and they wouldn't have the license in a million years--where now he's basically forced to work with them.

Yeah if you look at what EA did with the Fight Nights, those boxing games are fantastic. I didnt care about the UFC games much cause I didnt like how they played, but it'll be nice to see what EA does with the UFC game. The Strikeforce game played well, but it just didnt have the name draw that the UFC does. Like always if it isnt UFC people dont know nor do they care. It'll still be nice to see them expand on what they did with the Strikeforce game and apply that to what will more than likely be an awesome UFC game.

I was really bummed out when I heard about the THQ contract they had with the UFC. I believe it would be up in 2018?

THQ is pretty bland when it comes to fighting games. EA Sports knows what they're doing. While EA MMA didn't have an amazing roster, it was a way better game than any THQ UFC game. The last UFC game was better, but still those ******* stiff robotic animations, ruin it for me, among other things.

Oh no doubt. Probably why he wasn't there for the announcement. :lol

Good news.Ive been playing the UFC games since the first one but they are far from perfect as far as the standup goes,THQ have alot to learn from EA sports. They are fun,but when simple things like reach advantage and heigh difference are not even an option in these games,well...
Play Roy Nelson vs Stefan Struve or GSP vs Matt Serra for example and you'll see what i mean. It's like seeing the Hulk(Nelson) vs Spiderman(Struve).

The Grapple and transition system is pretty good though, couldn't be much better, that's the one thing they got better than EA sports MMA game.

Dana Showed up at E3 for announce

Rory MacDonald said he would like to fight BJ Penn at UFC 152 in Toronto. Penn accepted. Nothing signed yet though. I think Rory murks Penn.

Also add this to the "Who gives a ____" file: Brett Rogers signed with Bellator.

Yeah I think Rory is going to be to much for BJ. I think he'll realize that hes probably getting to the end of his career as well. I wouldnt count BJ out, but at the same time Rory is strong.

Yeah as for Brett...due to his weak ground game, I have a feeling hes going to get destroyed in Bellator as well unless he gets a lucky KO off someone. As much as I hate Kole Conrad, Brett would not beat him.

It's a bad month to be a Thiago, but even worse to be a Vera. Didn't expect B.J to take Rory up on his offer, should be a decent fight. If B.j should be able to keep it on the feet long enough to mark Rory up and if he can avoid being pummeled into a fine Hawaina paste from his guard, seeing as he gets a little complacent there.
