Hi everyone,

This is my first post, hope everyone is well. I bought the Sideshow Website Exclusive Ultron on the Throne statue and I received it today. I opened the box up, examined the statue for any broken parts, defects and I believe the base is defective(Please correct me if i'm wrong). I want to add that, this is my very very first Sideshow Statue. Most of my statue collection consist of Bowen Designs statues.
I have added two picture of the base and my statue collection. If you look at the two pictures of the base, you can see that there are light gray markings of somewhat. For those of you who have the same statue, does the base of your Ultron statue supposed to have these markings? Are these markings part of the style?

This is out already?? Can you post more pics? Thx.

Hi Ish,

Sure thing. I have posted more pics, check it out. One thing, can you do me a favor and check out the base pictures? Those markings aren't on Ultron nor his chair...just the bottom base. Here are more pics, enjoy:

Hi Empir3,

Do you know if the base is supposed to have those markings? Do you have the same Ultron statue? This would SUCK if my statue is defective since this is my VERY FIRST Sideshow Collectibles statue. As you can see on my collection, most of my statues are Bowen Designs and couple are Kotobukiya. If this is defective then this is definitely NOT GOOD for Sideshow. I expected more from them...especially they make high quality statues.

no i dont have it i was debating getting it but it looks like they went and painted him non metallic again.

As far as defective you mean the lil silver brush strokes on the edges? no i dont think thats a defect just how they are showing wear and tear on it

Thanks for the clear up Empir3. I was thinking the same thing, maybe it's the wear and tear style on the throne. I was curious so I decided to register on this forum and get a second opinion. Overall, I like the statue. The detail and quality is amazing and it looks epic on top of my shelve.

How so? Well, ULTRON is one of the most BADASS bad-guy in the Avenger series. Looking at my Bowen Designs collection, most of the characters are Avengers and Ultron beat all of them. Ultron beat Thor, Iron-Man, Captain, and dominated just about all of the Avengers(Correct me if i'm wrong).

They list Ultron as one of the most ULTRA-HARDEST bad guys to beat. Having him up on the Throne is badass, he dominates them all haha.

Yes it looks like weathering effect to me, it's all over, if it was accidental damage it wouldn't be that spread out and balanced, in any case wait for more arrivals and see othe people's pictures you got plenty of time to contact CS if it turns out to be a problem, but I would like to think its not. Congrats on the pick up and thanks for the pics I may have to order this now.:gah:

Hi Gagaliya,

Thanks for the input. I don't have the previous Ultron PF statue but I am guessing the Ultron PF was non-metallic paint and that was a major complaint for Sideshow collectors who bought the statue. I can see why people would be disappointed. In the comics, Ultron is Metallic.

StormShadow, Ultron really looks great on top of your shelves. Congrats on your first sideshow piece and thanks for the pics! :clap

Paint does look to be the same as the PF. Is it a good idea to have a statue in front of the AC? I'm thinking that could damage the paint over time. Thanks for the pics.

It's not damaged, it's just another bad paint job from SS.

And as for SS ONLY making high end collectibles...it's more of a guideline than a rule.

Chris

Great pick up my man. I think it looks fantastic don't know what all the issues are with paint. I prefer it the way it is rather than with a metalic finish. Just me I guess. Great statue to have to now that they have officially announced that he will be the villain in the Avengers sequel.

congrats on your first SSC piece and welcome to the forum buddy :wave just to confirm that it definately looks like Sideshows trademark dodgy attempts at weathering. Those who recieved the Wolverine LSF will have seen something very similiar on the shoulder guards :slap

Looks awesome man! Wish I had more money! Haha

Which is the best Ultron series to read? The Age of Ultron omnibus that is releasing next month?
