Um... wots with the dry spell?

Im still fairly new to collecting but Im curious why there havent been any other product unveils this year. Looking at the youtube sideshow channel, they were showcasing the next big thing. I've been waiting patiently for the Angel comiquette (that seems to have all but disappeared and replaced with the 1/6 scale Beast comiquette ... ugh).

Also I dont know who posted this pic, but if was showcasing prototypes and concept art from Sideshow's artists. There was a drawing of Shadowcat and Lockheed, as well as concept art for another Invisible Woman statue (i think Reed Richards was spinning around her feet at the base). Does anyone know wot Im talking about? Anyways, theres been no major unveils in a long time. The premium format statues that I know of are the ones in my preorder list with the exception of Rogue.

I want to be surprised but I also want to have something to look forward to at Comic Con. Was collecting always like this? I noticed that some of these unveils were like 8-9 months in advance... ie-Scarlet Witch, Gambit PF, Ms Marvel PF etc etc etc etc.

I found the pic. Looks like early concept art for Sideshow's team. Where can I find more pics and does this book exist?

I want that Shadow Cat statue.. or print.

Could be from one of SS catalogs or from just one of Mark Brook's art books. If its from SS I'd have to go look at my old catalogs.

That was from the Mark Brooks art book (Devilish I think, I own it but it's stored away at the moment) and Kitty isn't being produced anymore for whatever reason. No clue about Sue Storm.

from what i recall there always seems to be a lull after christmas/new years, especially this year with all the product announced during the Con being delivered late in the year.

if your complaining about lack of product, just be glad you don't collect LOTR pieces.

i for one am glad for the lull, it's giving my wallet a rest and my computer a break from having to contact ssc about damaged or bad QC of pieces

It should be getting to really pick up though over the next few months. I mean we're coming off the 12 days of Sideshow which has lead to several new items being announced in the newsletters, then we have TF, then in May Fantacular, then shortly after that Comic-Con.

As long as I get a Punisher and Magneto PF eventually I'll be happy...

All I want is to see production shots of Storm and Angel the comiquettes.. and maybe a surprise PF here or there. It seems odd that the only PFs lined up for 2011 is Rogue, Bucky, and the movie Cap/Thor.

Scratch that.. also She-Hulk, but shes been on my waitlist for sometime.
