Wow, crack is a helluva drug for some of you to be naming some of these actors....
Haha pretty much agree with that, although i agree with the Oldman statement - amazing, although he isn't really underrated. People recognise the talent. I dunno i have a few i'd list, from WAY left field, but by far the most compelling performance i've seen for at least the last year, was young Frank Dillane, who played the middle aged Tom Riddle in the last Harry Potter. He really just jumped out of the screen, compelling, charmismatic, and downright creepy, he just shon through and above all others, played the role to a T with absolute perfection, and it was barely 3 minutes of screen time, for a younger actor too, i expect big things to come, one talented dude, i think he's definately been underrated for that, i would expect he should have alot more work now. I'd rather see more of him than the worthingtons, or pattinsons
Another as absolutely strange as it's going to sound - Zac Efron. It's so damn easy to hate the guy, everyone gets stuck up on the whole dance, singing, crappy movie pretty boy thing, but when it gets down to brass tacs, the acting talent is definately there, alot of people miss it or don't want to care for it. I think he is a better actor than his other talents, by far, and alot of people underrate it. He needs to be cast in a SERIOUS role, say a WWII film or something, to prove himself. I could see him going the Dicaprio way and starting as the teeny wank wank, before actually breaking away from it and proving he's got what it takes.

Jason O Mara is another choice. So underrated i couldnt even remember his name LOL
Jon Bernthal
Matthew Morrison

He reminds me of oldman actually.

Looks good that will watch it in the next few days. :D

I would vote for David Boreanaz, I never understood why he hasnt been in more movies. I think that if he took on more roles, he would be just as big as the Clooneys and Pitts of the world. I know he likes to produce and all that, but I think he has talent for any role.

The director is named " Shane Meadows " and all of his films are great imo.
He works with Paddy alot and I think hes done 3 films with him. " Deads Mans Shoes " , a " Room For Romeo Brass " ( which is also brilliant and again like dead mans shoes over the whole thing turns quite dark ) and " Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee " which I think is about a rapper and his buddy and is sort of a fictional documentary. I haven't seen that yet though. Still need to order it.

I was watching film 2009 with Jonathon Ross last night when Shane was being interviewed and apparently his next film is about a true story of a man who believed he had the devil inside him. Its going to be a horror though so I'm assuming he does actually have the devil inside him and hes not just a nutter. :lol
I hope he uses Paddy again. :rock Regardless of who he does though its likely to be great. I reccomend all these movies to anyone not in the UK too if you want to see some great British films. :rock

Spot on! Shane is a legend already! This is England is awesome! And Paddy is just a great great actor that in my opinion is completely undiscovered. He needs far more leading roles and i know he will deliver

ps. cheers for the awesome sig Tay

a few actors come to mind...

kurt russell. never gets enough credit for the work he does. he can play everyman and action hero equally well. and he's subtle.

dennis quaid. same reason as above. though he's been in some crappy films, he usually the best thing in those.

david strathairn. this guy always gives classy, understated performances. and because he doesn't "act", he seldom gets the attention he actually deserves.

liam neeson. the man can switch effortlessly between fun popcorn stuff and heavyweight dramatic roles. i've always been a big fan of his work.

ed harris. waaay underrated! he can be a little too intense sometimes but i put that down to his deep passion for his craft. great actor.

there's quite a few more i could name but i'll stick to these 5 dudes for now...

absolutely. he was pretty good in galaxy quest, but i think his most memorable role is in green mile. he was superb in that. highly underrated actor.

I think his best performance was his latest in Moon.........he was ????ing awesome in that! :rock

Check out "The Boiler Room" - he was great in that as was (surprisingly) Vin Diesel.

Yeah he was absolutely brilliant in that agreed, i think he was awesome in the gift aswell. He always plays the weird twisted guy so so well, i still love his performances in friends so much. He is just a great actor that deserves a leading role now for me.

And when i think about it i bet he could have done a good job as the Joker in TDK i think he would have that Heath Ledger type performance in him

Absolutely, i thought he was incredible in that flight of the phoenix remake. One talented dude! Another one i think is Guy Pearce

Guy Pearce is a good one. I have to say Jason Patrick. I dare anyone to watch Narc and tell me that mother????er can't act.

I agree with Sam Rockwell. One of the most interesting actors working these days.
I'll add Michael Keaton.
