This piece is indeed underrated. Beautiful piece especially since I thoroughly enjoyed the Punisher MAX series. Congrats on the great acquisition!

Thanks, xYx, it's definitely underrated, as the CQ understandibly stole its thunder as soon as it was announced.

I have the REG PF and I thought it looked great...until I got the EX Olivetti Punisher. Now the PF is in its box waiting to be sold when I have time. It just doesn't hold up to the comiquette IMHO. The Punisher comiquette is my favorite statue of that character.

That's fine with me. But for the record, allow me to quote myself (and a few other fellow SF members):

Was never a fan of the PF, comiquette is the best representation to date of Frank IMO.

The CQ is a great piece, but I like my statues realistic and in scale with my 1:4 collection, so PF it is for me.

I know it's cliché, but this is really one of those cases where pics do not do justice at all. In pics his arms seem to be too open, but when you put it some place high next to some other PFs he's got an incredibly commanding presence.

He's way too skinny and bony and the body structure and cloth just makes him come off like a 12" GI Joe doll. Comiquette is in another league compared to its representation of Frank Castle.

I know some pics may give the impression he is skinny - I myself asked about that a few posts ago on this very thread, but he's definitely not. He's got a realistic body, unlike the bloated Comiquette.

Now don't get me wrong, I think the CQ is a terrific statue, clearly the better work of the two as craftsmanship goes and the one that's most likely to get more 'oohs' and 'wows', but as I said, I look for realism in my statues, and the Comiquette is, well, too comic-like for my taste. Also, no matter what some might say, the CQ is not 1:4. Every time I've seen pics of him he looks dwarfed by any other PFs, and I know that would worry me too much.

I guess you're right about the GI Joe feel, though, but I actually find that is part of his charm. He's kind of a paramilitary-like character after all, and as stated, it says Tim Bradstreet to me, which is something the CQ hasn't going for it.

To each their own.

So it all boils down to personal preferences, doesn't it?

It always should. Collect what you like Shoo. As I said, I own both the PF and comiquette. IMHO the comiquette is what floats my boat. For the record, I don't think the PF was ever underated. It sold for some good coin until the comiquette came out. It's just recently that you can pick up the PF for cost. That doesn't make it underated, just a little less popular than before. The Punisher PF is still a nice piece. That's saying alot for me. I don't like PFs. I only own the Mystique and Punisher PF. The only one I won't sell is Mystique and I even have the AH! comiquette of her.

It all goes back to that personal preference thing you were talking about.

I love it. Mine has been in storage for some time, but it's one of the best, IMO. That's pretty much why I had no interest in the comiquette. I thought they did such a great job on this one, I thought why bother getting another? Both, the PF and comiquette, are great, so to each his own, but the PF got the job done for me.
