I personally think that Unforgiven was the best movie of the 90's but I'm actually quite curious to see how this turns out.

Remakes of this sort are far more interesting (because of their rarity) than Hollywood's persistent chasing of its own tail.

Love Unforgiven. Easy to criticize remakes, but hard to criticize a Japanese film remaking a western, considering that the Magnificent Seven--one of the best westerns ever--was a remake of Seven Samurai.

Ken Watanabe is no Toshiro Mifune (not even close) but I'll be very interested in checking this out.
