United States of Tara - A woman struggles to find a balance between her dissociative identity disorder (multiple personalities) and raising a dysfunctional family.

Created by Steven Spielberg, written by Diablo Cody (Juno), starring Toni Collette and Jon Corbett = a winner for me. I saw the first episode the other day and it was great, I love Diablo's writing and I've always liked Collette and Corbett, very funny (especially when the alterates are on) and touching, I'm already looking forward to the rest of the season.

Anybody else catch it? What did you think?

Showtime continues to put out really good shows. This is a winner for me too. Great performances by both Collette and Corbett. I like how Tara's different personalities tell her what the others are doing.

I thought that was cool too, 'T' and 'Buck' are hilarious, Alice seems like more of a hard ass. I loved when Tara came back from being T and she was talking to her son, she paused and said, "Am I high?" with an annoyed look on her face. :lol And when they were at the recital, the son noticed that Buck was into it and says, "You're enjoying this", Buck simply replied, "^^^^ you faggot". :rotfl Good stuff.

I felt bad for her son. He's obviously taken a lot of abuse from Buck. I did like it when Buck kicked the crap out of her daughter's boyfriend and then he took over. :lol

I think the kid is used to it and tries to ignore it, he seems like a strong little dude. And yes when Buck was beating that dude up and the son jumped in was pure awesomeness!! :rock

I think we'll definitely find out more about how the family members handle each personality. And I wonder what goes on in the shed.

I think T is the kid's favorite, Alice is the husband's and they just put up with Buck's ^^^^. :D

I think that's where the husband sends T to throw her fits, but I think she also uses that time to get high. :lol

this is an awesome show. my wife wanted me to watch it & i was like "aww hell no, a chick flick??"........well i sat there for a bit and found myself laughing my ass off at it. Toni Collette is hilarious. she is really really good. almost seems that role was made for her. showtime strikes again with a good sunday night show.

Yup, with Diablo Cody involved I knew it was gonna be great from the beginning. Going off of last night alone, I really hope Collette gets an award nomination (doesn't matter which) for her role.

I've always liked Collette and she really gets to shine her - a very funny show. Normally you'd have the drama of a show like this come out of all the family not being able to deal with the multiples, but here they're pretty well adjusted to it, it's just a part of mom.

i think this show will skyrocket if the rest of the season is as good as the debut.

I am going to recommend this show to everyone I know. If you're reading this right now and you haven't watched it, you need to!!!

never heared of "United States of Tara! before.....

but I like the series....because my 3 week old daughter called "Tara", too!:D

so i hope its a good "series"

is it...?:google

Another exceptional episode tonight, the whole cast really shines and Collette is putting forth an A+ performance. I like 'Alice' a lot more than I thought I would, the way she stood up for Marshall with his teacher was great and she made me laugh when she tried to put soap in Kate's mouth. :lol The one and only thing I don't like about the show is that it's too damn short, it really should be an hour long, I get so into it and before I know it it's over. :( This is already one of my favorite shows this year.

i agree that the show should be an hour, like you said just when it really starts getting good it ends...:monkey2
