Universal Monster Dioramas Announced!!!

If these are done with lights like the Sentinel dioramas, the possibilities are endless. Frankenstein's lab equipment and lightning effects, a lantern in the hands of the London After Midnight Vampire, Torches on castle walls, etc.

Some ideas other than those mentioned above would be:

Creature boarding the Rita with Jule Adams screaming
Dracula strangling Renfield atop the staircase
Son of/Ghost of Frankenstein version of the Monster in a graveyard with Ygor
The Wolfman getting ready to pounce on the constable from Frankenstein meets the Wolfman with a lighted gaslamp and cobblestone street.
Frankenstein fighting the Wolfman
Glenn Strange Frankenstein strapped to lab table with the Karloff mad doctor from House of Frankenstein

The possibilities are endless.......

I TOTALLY agree! This is really exciting news. I primarily collect SW and Universal 1/6 figures and did not bite on the SW dioramas. However that said...I will be all over the Universal Dioramas!

How are they going to do this with no rights to a Colin Clive likeness?

Huh, I didn't know they couldn't do Colin Clive... I can't remember, did he wear a surgeon's mask at all during the operation? If so, that could be the solution. Not quite "It's alive!" but still would make for an exciting diorama.

Clive died early. Left no issue. No one seems to be able or willing to find out who (if anyone) owns the rights to his likeness. No surgeon's mask worn in the film either. I suppose they could go the avenue they chose with the Brent Planet of the Apes 12" figure (ie just a Brent figure with any similarities between it and James Franciscus being purely coincidental). But that would reek. If they had the rights for his likeness we almost certainly would have had a 12" figure.

Sweet! Plan on purchasing all of this line, woot woot bring on the pre-orders exclusives! Silver screen perhaps was mentioned earlier by a poster...lord with this line and the warcraft line im going to be broke.

Oh well, the creature dio will be perfect next to the new creature PF.

Awesome news!!! I pray that they are doing them in 1/6th scale (or at least 1/8th) since the smaller Lord of the Rings dios were too small and made them seem like action figures.

This sounds like a cool idea. The only one I would truly buy though is if they make Frankenstein by the lake with Maria and the flower. I've always loved that scene...
