Because people like to lose their minds over something. Come on, we all do! :lol
Better over old good films (Star Wars and Jurrasic Park) than new crappy ones (Da Farce Awakens and Jerkassic Whored).

Yeah I understand that. I just think it can be a bit extreme with people, and I just don't see why.

I'm not saying it's bad at all :lol I just don't understand why it's on the level it is.

The first BTTF is a near perfect film. Sure, you can always point to a time travel plot hole, but the film itself is just great. The sequels are not on the same level. I like 2 and 3 is watchable at best. Most of the love for the series is off the coattails of the first film.

I don't know if I'd call it perfect, but it's definitely the best of the three by far.

It's all opinion, but IMO it's close. It has very few flaws. The acting is great, the story is both fun and entertaining and the cast works wonderfully together. The only nitpick to be made is the typical time travel plot holes which nearly every time travel film has.

Time travel never really works fully in films since it's all theoretical thinking involved, but I can ignore those flaws in these films. Although Terminator 5 went full retard with it's timeline plot holes.

I don't think I've seen any of the BTTF films in their entirety. As a kid watching the parts that I've seen, I found Parts II and III more engaging than the plot of Part I but I'm sure if I watched it today as an adult I'd have a very different opinion. I have zero interest in actually watching the movies though so meh.

I don't think the Godfather is overrated, but I agree it's not a movie I can watch often. I think I've seen it twice in 10 years. I've only seen Godfather II once in 10 years. I've never attempted to watch Godfather III.

I have no interest in the Potter movies but I do own the books (got them as a gift from a fan) and would like to one day read through them.

BTTF is great, the second was pretty bad, and the third was decent but not great.

Godfather and godfather 2 are two of my favorite movies, but as others have said, they are not the kind of films one watches over and over.

My Wife is a big Potter fan, which means I have seen them all. The first 2 are pretty bad (IMO) due to the clumsy, unimaginative and artless direction of Chris Columbus. They started getting decent when Alfonse Cuaron directed Azkaban. By the half blood Prince, I found them relatively enjoyable. That being said, I have zero desire to read the books, even as a kid I never really read anything that might be considered YA reading. I prefer something more along the lines of LOTR and GOT, at least for fantasy.

Scarface, talk about overrated.

Very much agreed. I can see how it was considered great when it came out ... but, it's extremely dated.

Starship Troopers is criminally underrated and one of my favourite movies ever.

Eh. I didn't hate it. Problem was ... it took a really badass book -- listed among great military fiction -- and made a cartoon out of it.

Actually, it wasn't considered great or even good when it came out. Critics hated it and most of the actors in that film didn't have much of a career for a while because of that film...except for Pacino. It wasn't until the mid to late 90's that the film became popular and in retrospect, some critics like it. The film is dated in a good way, imo. It's a time capsule of the late 70's early 80's Miami. I think that film also influenced shows like Miami Vice and games like Grand Theft Auto.

To me a "dated" movie can be a great thing. Scarface was written about a specific time period and when I watch a movie like that I want to feel like I'm in that time period. Scarface captures that and IMO it's a positive and not a negative.

What HBO did with the Godfather trilogy was amazing

I don't know how unpopular this is, but a lot of people use the phrase "Well, it's no Citizen Kane" when they see a movie that they like, but don't think it's a level of greatness. However, everyone that I encountered who said that, hasn't even seen Citizen Kane. There's there's a lot of folks that think Citizen Kane was just something to be respected for what it did for cinema, but don't bother with it because they think it will be boring or dated.

Citizen Kane is an awesome movie! I've seen it multiple times, and I love it everytime. I put it up there right after the Godfather movies as one of the greatest movies that I've seen. Charles Foster Kane is my favorite movie character after Michael Corelone.

That one with a bunch of red necks running in the woods with shotguns looking for monsters.WTF ??? Just like wrestling FAKE.Who in the right mind watches that ?
