UPS SUCKS! Either they claim my road is too muddy and they're afraid they're going to get stuck, when no one has ever gotten stuck at my house unless it was snow or sleet on the road, or they backed into or drove into the yard. Liars just don't want to get a little mud on their trucks they'll have to wash off. Then it's the excuse that my dogs are loose when according to the Game Warden and Animal Control, the only reason my dog goes crazy when just the UPS man drives up is one of their drivers must have pepper sprayed her. Then it’s the “No one was home excuse” when if they bothered to come to my front door my son’s room is only two foot away and he would even have to walk past my son’s window to get to it. The guy either lied, never came to the door to begin with, or he knocked and didn’t knock hard enough, or didn’t wait for anyone to answer before taking off. I’m disabled and at home all the time, why wouldn’t there be anyone here? I’ve called and complained about these things and the fact drivers leave my packages half way down my road in bags, called me to come to the top of the hill and get them so many times now they want even deliver to my house when they know we’re here. Their Supervisor calls me and has me drive the 40 minutes to their distribution center in Danville to pick my packages up myself. They’re sorry as HELL, and I’ve switched my shipping to Fed-Ex from now on.

You shouldn't have your dog loose when you are expecting a package from a carrier. A loose dog can spook people, and it can likely cause a carrier to not want to deliver to you. Having a loose dog can send the message that you don't care or that you are inconsiderate to the carrier and people don't want to deal with that.
I like dogs, but not everyone does.
You can have this same problem with the Fed Ex guy if he gets spooked by the dogs too. Just warning you.

In fact, the dog issue might even be the real reason why they use the muddy road as an excuse not to drop it at your house. I don't know for sure, but it certainly is possible.

Oil trucks, other delivery trucks and vans have come down my road with no problems for years, the only time a driver got in trouble is when he was fool enough to try and drive through my yard after it had been raining for "FIVE DAYS", he made it about four yards before he realized he was sliding toward one of my storage buildings. He was looking at my family and me to get him out, but I wasn’t going to stand in the rain so we went in. He got a big tow truck to come down and they made a mess, leaving sticks, boards from one of my buildings (with nails sticking up), and ruts deep enough to tear my lawn mower to pieces in my yard; just last week.

My dog doesn’t bother anybody unless they step out of a UPS truck, so that tells you something.

The UPS drives are such babies here that when one driver stepped out of his truck my chickens ran up to him thinking he had feed, he dropped my box on the ground and ran back to his truck like something out of “The Birds”, I was even coming out the door when it happened. At first I thought it was funny, but after I thought about it; “What would have happened if that had been glass or fragile?”, then I got mad.

The carrier must make the decision whether it is a safe situation or not.
Wild animals outside the truck is not safe.

Well, with all due respect, that is why they pave roads. I realize it is expensive, but when you are talking about big trucks driving on it, things like what you described can happen. That forces delivery drivers to actually have to think about whether it is safe to go down your road on any given time, so unless it is dry, they won't want to risk it.

As far as your dog only bothering the UPS guy, based upon your dog's experience, I don't blame the dog.
A lot of people are spooked by various forms of livestock, too, such as chickens or sheep or ducks. At least you don't keep snakes or big lizards around. :) A lot of city folk don't relate to getting up close to livestock animals.
I'm sorry, but that's just how people are.
I hope you get a FedEx delivery driver who likes animals and doesn't mind your muddy roads.

It's only muddy a few days after it's stopped raining, today my road is dry.

The problem with UPS has been going on for years and only getting worse. I ordered my Classic Predator from Sideshow and even though it was suppose to be signed for; it was delivered or opened by someone there or somewhere else. The box was beat up, the figure had been opened, and they even put the figure back, upside down and backwards. It took over a month and all kinds of traces to find it, it was another month to return it to sideshow and get my replacement.

When it was raining, they’d bag my packages and leave them either on the side of my driveway (it’s a long driveway and all downhill) or even in the middle where if we hadn’t watched where we were driving we could have run it over. They’ve even left them tied in trees across from the entrance to my drive way where there’s a convicted burglar living.

LOL loose dogs. Being a courier myself, that's strike one right there. I don't hate dogs but i dont like dogs jumping on me when i'm delivering something either. Refusing to deliver to your front door would definitely be unacceptable though.

Canada Post?

My dogs aren't wild, and neither are my chickens, I can pick some of them up right off the ground.

That's not the courier's recollection:

I had only one loose dog and that still doesn't excuse them when I'm disabled and home all the time anyway. All they needed to do is wait for me to walk to the truck, but then it's the "Muddy Road" excuse again. It's anything to justify not coming down the hill that my driveway is on. I’ll see how Fed-Ex does for awhile now that I’ve called my main two companies I do business with and had my shipping method changed over.

What a load of ****, I call my local UPS and speak to the Supervisor this morning and he claims the package wasn’t delivered to my house last night because of the condition of the Road. He also claims a driver called me to come to the top of the hill to pick up the package and I refused; another lie. I told him my road was fine and if he came down here I’d show it to him. While I’m waiting for him, a UPS truck drives down my road and is there to deliver my package but can’t find it. I tell him everything that’s been going on and he calls the distribution center and they tell him it’s there. He tells me it would have been nice if they’d told him they pulled it off his truck and after I tell him where to stay ”ON MY ROAD AND DRIVEWAY, AND TO STAY OUT OFF MY GRASS AND HE WILL BE FINE” he backs up with no problem and leaves.

Now if he could make it this morning, why couldn’t the driver last night, when I was standing at the front door waiting on him? Nothing but a bunch of lazy liars!
