Boy that sucks, not only that, but it will give the incentive for Fed-Ex and UPS to slightly raise their prices as well.

Also, I don't mean to go off subject, but usually how long does a package take to arrive in the US from the UK (basic parcel shipping)? Thanks

It depends I have seen airmail take as long as 50 days before but that is rare normally its around 10 - 12 days

The UK postal service introduced this method last August. Where previously I knew how much a standard letter and parcel cost, now I have to take practically everything to the post office to get them to price it. I've been using them less and less and using the private carriers more as I can put the weight and dimensions in online and it gives me a cost.

Personally I think it's just an excuse to jack up prices to backfill the millions of pounds (cash not weight) in their void that they've lost over the past few years.....

I heard about this a few days ago. It's a total crock, but not a surprise. Anything to screw people over for a few more bucks.

the usps had federal express and ups on the ropes. they were much cheaper to ship with. all this does is force spending wise consumers to go with the competition. they are however encouraging people with discount incentives to print and purchase shipping labels online to save them administrative and cs costs. looks like i'll need to buy a good scale now.

I wouldn't say USPS had them on the ropes. UPS, Fed Ex, DHL are all huge companies with huge profits and the only reason they are in business is because USPS is so bad.
Did you ever try and use the USPS tracking system? It tells you something was mailed and is never updated until the package hits your door.

Tell me about it.

I just received what I think is a 1/6 Chow Yun Fat from Asia (haven't been home yet to check it) that was purchased a little over 8 business days ago and I'm STILL waiting for a SS Han (that was sent at the exact same time from a SS Freak) from the US and also a HS of Daniel Craig (also from a Freak) that was sent out back on the 16th of April!!!!

i have exclusively used usps to ship with zero problems. now ups has come to me battered and bruised and fedex has at least been better than ups. haven't used dhl. i think everyone's experiences have been different depending on the region of the u.s. or world they are located in.
