thanx for everyones kind comments, nearly all paint apps are airbrushed i use a variety of Iwata airbrushes, most paints are thinned tamiya , i hope to have spawnfans done by tonight, ive done him diferently again from previous ones as SF didnt want the cathode saber i could use a 90% sideshow body, the big boy one, just replace some of the leg to add bulk and legth ,ive alos robbed my Praji of his boots and used them instead of the leather ones , which are lovely but not quite right shape wise...he requested a clean look so the scrathes etc found on the ANh prop pieces are absent but the dusted look to armor etc is still there...

What's the difference? :D

Hurricane's is stil the gold standard

Speaking of...I really don't want to be a pest, but could you let me know how mine is coming along?

I really don't mind waiting, but all of these pictures of Vader are making me way too excited for yours! No rush at all, just hoping for a little update :D

The Edition size for one which means

a greater attention to detail, that comes from having produced 15+ Vaders and 40+ customs already (Im guessing these figures btw Hurricane would have to verify this)

The ability to look at a vast array of readily available elements now, available from all types of sources, statues and existing 1:6th releases etc. (which now include the SSC one)

analyse what works and create a Hybrid

so apart from that very little

i kinda think spawn fawn was joking.............right sf????? :lol

everyones are WELL underway, thing is, ive a list of names and specs but not the corresponding user name here....:banghead

Hey Glenn,

Obviously you already knew Vader backwards and forwards, but now that there are a lot more up close pics of SS's first Vader I'm curious if you've learned anything or found anything interesting or informative about the way Sideshow has constructed their mass produced Vader? stitching, materials, sculpt, etc? :vader

not sure why theyve done it the way they with some quite obvious (to me at least) inaccuracies...its a puzzle also with the proportions, but i guess once in hand it can be studied harder...i feel its an 'idealized' figure ie: its done how lucas wanted him to look in ANH instead of what actually appeared..the odd thing is theyve done some things dead right, things you wouldnt really notice like the height of the belt boxes, then made the chest box a bit too large..i dont seem to see any cape chain or leatherette collar either, and the shoulder bells have that curve....also ive noticed the details on the shin armor isnt so sharp as it should be..evertyhing looks nicely done but the body suit doesnt quite cut it, now lets get contraversial(spelling??), the hasbro UV suit looks better once its been tinkered with,
i was worried about the release of this and how itd effect my 'signature' figure, itll definitly change things, guess ill get sent some to light up etc...ill buy one for myself too, but maybe itll offer alot to use to create other versions, guessing again itll depend what people want, what he DID look like, or what he SHOULD'VE looked like..

Never been a fan of Vader's costume, but this is amazing work. Can't believe the amount of details you've added in there.

Can I ask how long the whole process of sculpting and painting it took you to do this? are most of the tiny items reproduced with resin?

You thinking of doing a 1:1 scale next? :D

Thanks! Very cool to hear your assessment.

Sideshow's is a very nice ANH Vader but I knew they would never ever be able to approach this gorgeous screen accurate ANH one you made for Rugby1970

Glenn just let me know that my Vader is finished. I asked him to create the most screen accurate ANH Vader possible.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves:
