NOSFERATU!!!

The first and still the best. :rock

I do like Herzog's semi-remake as well, but Murnau's 1922 masterpiece reigns supreme. Both are tons better than any of these modern vampire flicks, though I do like FFC's Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I want to see Let the Right one In now.

I also like the Nightwatch/Daywatch movies. So much fun. Hence why I loved Wanted so much.

My favs. are:
30 DAYS OF NIGHT
FRIGHT NIGHT
LOST BOYS
DRACULA: Bela Lugosi
SUB SPECIES
BLOOD PLUS: anime series

LordAzrael, thank you for making this thread. Screw teeny bopper vampires!!!

My favorite vampire movies ever are

the lost boys

This post absolutely cracks me up. FYI, Lost Boys was a teeny bopper movie no matter how you slice it, just made in the 80's. Pretty-boy Corey Haim, glam vampires, that saxaphone dude on the boardwalk, etc. Funny as hell to see "Screw teeny bopper vampires" right next to "Lost Boys". :lol

My favorite vampire movie of all time is Near Dark.

:lol I thought the same thing---

Tons have already been mentioned but I will say that Salem's Lot (David Soul) is good-- for a tv movie. I'd love for it to get the big screen treatment.

I agree. I didnt like The Lost Boys. It was the worst blend of humor and horror i've ever seen.

It was totally serious one moment, then the next full of EPIC LULZ....very odd.

I know I am going to get blasted. At the word of this board I watched Near Dark. Mind you I watched it at the age of 28 and I am sure that isn't the age that most who loved it watched it. I thought it was terrible. :lol Hill Billy vampires are not my thing. :dunno

Hmm, I've seen so many they have blended together. Bram's did have the baby eating scene and alot of other momerable moments, plus the first british/surfer accent I've ever heard. Toss in a Gary Oldman, Tom Waits, and and Anthony Hopkins and it is hard to beat. That totally effable red head, and Winona who I would have married at one time, I promptly jizzed myself white thinking about a game of 'hot potato' with those two.

But Nicolas Cage in "Vampire's Kiss" would have to be my top for absolute realism.

John Carpenter's "Vampires" is good.

"Shadow of the Vampire" I like.

"Nosferatu" gets me chilly down in my drillies. Totally spooky butler/Grinch dude.

But the one that everyone seems to have forgotten is "Spiderman III". That totally sucked my life away.

Ditto on pretty much all of the wonderful aforementioned films---

excluding "Vampire's Kiss," which not even a gorgeous, half-nude Jennifer Beals could save from Nicolas Cage's notorious over-acting...

On a lighter note, no love in here for Lifeforce?

The Lost Boys is about Teen Vampires but it definately isn't a teeny bopper vampire movie. The skull biting, scalping and throat ripping removes it far from Teeny Bopper vampire movies. I personally have never seen this degree of animalistic raw brutality displayed by other vampires in any other vampire movies. The Lost boys is a perfect mix of horror, comedy and rock 'n roll. It is my favorite vampire movie.

I thought Near Dark was pretentious and a bore but that's just my opinion.

Non-sense the humor is pure character humor, there are no "EPIC LULZ''. Some characters are funny because of their excentricities (grandpa, the Frog brothers, Sam) while others are not funny and contribute to the horror and drama (the vampires, Michael, Star). The characters stay consistent the whole movie that's why the humor and the horror blends perfectly.

My top vampire movies would be:

The Lost Boys - David does it for me, he made a fantastic vampire
30 days of night - Really enjoyed this one, something alittle different
The Hamiltons - One of the most different vampire movies in awhile, I liked it
Queen of the Damned - Loved it, great film
Underworld - Great, but didn't like the hybrid as they could have made a much better version. It seemed like an afterthought, the Lycans were top and the Vampires were subtle.
Blade 1 & 2 - Great sound track and action scenes, plus his weapons rock!

I like Fright Night...Fantastic! Great vampiric acting from Chris Sarandon and his familiar. plus the nekkid victims and bloody apples(do vampires even eat fruit, in here they do). plus the hero is waaay over his head. great story telling.

I totally respect your opinion on Near Dark, it's a slow burn and definitely not for everybody. The bar scene is one of my favorite sequences in all horror movies though.

Regarding Lost Boys, it is absolutely a teeny bopper movie, you need to take it in the context of when it was made. Don't get me wrong, I do like the movie and even saw it in the theater. Yes, there is some nice violence, but everything made in the 80's was violent. That doesn't change the fact that the movie was extremely glam and spawned dozens of covers of magazines like Bop and Teen Beat.

Agreed, Fright Night rocked the Casbah. Awesome movie.

They had a really serious scene, then they went all 100% comedy. It never matched up. Horror and Comedy work well together.....when used right. I didnt see it here.

Oh and you want animalistic raw brutality, watch 30 Days of Night. Seriously, those were the meanest vampires ever.

My faves in no particular order:

Let the Right One In
Bram Strokers' Dracula
Nosferatu
Dracula - Frank Langella / Lawerence Olivier

There was a Tromo vampire movie that I remember wanting to see because it had an interesting plan, but I can't remember what it was about or called.

Has anyone seen this?:
