I saw the Ali G movie on G4 a week or two ago. Not "Da Ali G Show" but an actual movie based on that character. Couldn't site through more than 10 minutes of it, awful. But I like Boart and Bruno looks like it will be funny if you don't mind that sort of humor.

I liked about half of Borat--the parts that felt genuine and not staged. I get the feeling that this one is even more staged and scripted than Borat, so I think I will wait and se it on video.

Same for me, to be honest other than Borat I have no other interest in the guy. Borat was pure genius.

Overall, it was alot more exagerated and overdone than Da Ali G Show, and the skits it borrowed were funnier in the original show, but the movie is still funny and worth seeing more than once. Borat was slightly better since less of it felt scripted, and it was closer to the style of the show.

Bruno's personality (and more obviously looks) were altered quite a bit from his character on the show, and was now completely going overboard with the gay thing. Before, it was obvious, but in the movie, it is almost the subject of every frame. Nothing wrong with that, and it works, I just thought these moments, while funny in the film, worked better in the show than the movie:

Both lines are only quotable because they're in the trailers. There really isnt anything that you can just run around saying.....and then try to be cool.
