No news yet that I know of. I saw the retro Magic Kingdom at D-Street a couple days before Christmas. They had quite abit of them.

Thanks for the heads up. Last time I was in there it was packed so I didn't really get to look around. I'll have to make a trip that way soon.

I'm really looking forward to the 40th ann. ones; they look really cool.

Most of them was behind the counter, so if you don't see them on the shelves check with a CM.

The 40th one's look great. There will be some variants of them you can only get by trading witha CM. There is supposed to be more released for the 40th, but they havn't been shown yet. Hope one is a Walt and Mickey set since Disneyland got Mousketeer exclusives. :D

A Walt and Mickey set would be great. I saw some pics of the variants, I didn't care too much for them though. I like the color scheme of the regular ones more.

The first Disney Afternoon set....

Wow, the Talespin set looks GREAT! And Tron!!!!! Those Kevin Flynn ones are a must for me. :clap

Perfect, we're having a family reunion at Disney mid-February so I should be able to get the whole set that weekend. Thanks for the news.

Release date for Star Wars has been announced!

In even bigger news, it's time to reveal the release date of one of the most aniticipated Vinylmation™ collections of 2011, Star Wars™ #1!

Walt Disney World® Resort
As this series takes its inspiration from a beloved film, we decided to take a cinematic approach with a midnight release at the close of Thursday, January 13 (so technically early Friday morning) at D-Street at Downtown Disney® West Side. As part of the festivities, Disney Design Group Artist and designer of the collection Mike Sullivan will be on hand to sign Vinylmation™ Figures.

Please note: There will be a limit of two trays per Guest and three signed pieces per Guest.

Disneyland® Resort

Disneyland® Resort will be releasing the Star Wars™ #1 collection on January 15 at D-Street.

Hope to see you there!

I love the TRON pieces. This line blew past me with so many releases that I gave it up quickly but I definitely cherry pick the ones I like. I'll be going after the CLU, Flynns and Sam at minimum.

The Animation series was released today. Blindboxed Dodger, 2 of Quasimodo(which worked out because my mom wanted him) and the Elephants on Parade Chaser. Sucks there is 3 different versions of the chaser though.

Also seen the Star Wars ones on display. Luke and Vader will have lightsaber accessories. :)

I've been picking the Villains series up over the past couple of weeks. I finally have everyone except for the chaser. It's a great series.

I'm also interested in the TRON series also. I've been on the fence as to whether I even liked them but a few have grown on me.

Disney has done some excellent work with Vinylmations so far. :clap

Just redid our office/collection room. I have yet to unpack my 1/6 figures and am missing a detolf due to IKEA being out of stock BUT the fiance got situated with her vinyls rather quickly, lol

I picked up the first Urban set a few years back. One of them, a El Super Raton sold for almost $150 on Ebay. These have better profit margins that some Hot Toys!

Found a VERY tempting set of Vinylmations at the Disney Store web site:

I REALLY like the Vinylmation pieces that reference the parks in some way. VERY nice pieces. But $99 for the set is a bit much for me.

I'm looking to possibly snag one of the new Disney/Star Wars crossover statue that premiered at Star Wars Weekends this year which run the same price.

I know that once I start down the Vinylmation path forever will it domination my destiny consume me it will. :wink1:

:lol The key to vinylmations is to make sure that you have a very narrow focus and stick to it. The ones having to do with the parks are my favorite, but I require that it also holds some conenction to me. So as much as I love the ticket booklets, I never had those, so no personal connection.

The Star Wars statues are pretty cool. I'll confess to being tempted by them this past Friday.

A disney store just opened up a few weeks ago close by so I stopped in tonight to check it out. Saw these vinylmations and fell in love with them. I picked up 3 Lion king ones and they are so awesome! I think I found something new to collect :D

Yeah, this is one reason I've yet to buy one. I'm just worried about it being a VERY slippery slope.

But the park ones always pique my interest. But the catch of these is what turns me off to buying one - not knowing. If I ever saw one I really wanted, I'd probably just pay extra on eBay.

And I hear you on the ticket books, as they were before my time as well. But I've immersed myself in so much retro Disney park information, they they almost feel like something that does hit home for me.

edit: And that blog just cements my logic. I already saw like 50 that I'd want. I can't allow myself to start!

They are very addicting. I own about a dozen of them from licenses of the Lion King, Muppets, & Toy Story. Just make sure you stick to a narrow focus like Agent said and you won't go "as" broke. :lol

Oddly enough there haven't been any I want in awhile. When I do see one I want though, I always get it on eBay. Generally I can get one for a price very close to retail, and sometimes even for retail. The tough thing is if there are any already out you want. Catching up on any collectible is a _____. :lol
