Hi guys,
I'll be going to Florida for two weeks over New Years and will be staying in Cape Coral. We'll have a car rented, so we will be making a lot of trips to surrounding areas.

I am still hoping to squeeze some time in there to check out some comic and collectible shops, so I was hoping some of you guys are from there and can help me out find some good ones. :)
I'm mainly interested in collectible shops, and I collect mainly 1:6 figures (Hot Toys and Sideshow), but I wouldn't mind checking out some regular comic shops too. Even if the shops you know are pricey, they will most likely still be cheaper than anything I can get here, so just list everything you know if possible.

I'm also open for any other suggestions of places I should visit, restaurants, insider tips etc., whatever you got. :)
Thanks.

My girlfriends mother use to live in Cape Coral - Its a beautiful brand new town . everything is new there .

I visited there about 2 years ago .

I didn't go to any shops down there but i could be wrong but i thought there was a comic shop in Punta Gorda .

Theres always Fort Myers which is about a 35 mins ride from Cape Coral , i'm sure they have Comic Shops there

I'm not familiar with many decent collectibles shops out in Tampa anymore. I only knew of Green Shift in Tampa (music, comics) but I'm not even sure if they're open anymore...

But in St. Pete you should check out the Dali museum. I heard they renovated it, and it's supposed to be spectacular. Of course, you MUST visit Orlando and all the theme parks. You have Disney and Universal, which you could easily spend a week there. Downtown Disney used to have a collectibles store, but I think they went out of business. But Orlando is full of things to see (mainly theme parks)...

Thanks a lot for the tips man. I just checked out the Dali museum, that's definitely on our to do list now.

I've actually been to Florida before in 1998 (when I was 11) with my family and we went to Universal Studios, Disney, Kennedy Space Center (saw a shuttle start), the Everglades, Key West etc., so basically a trip from north to south through the east coast and then back up on the west coast. However, we spend a lot of time on the road and being 11 at the time, I was most interested in toy shops and alligator farms. Not that that has changed, but my interests are a bit more diverse now. :lol

This time we have a house in Cape Coral and will be making day trips to the surrounding areas.
