Buddy bought a recast off a guy in NY who swore it was the original. Turns out, the Iron Man com was a fake. Broke his heart.

That's worrying, do you mind telling us which iron that was a knockoff? the grey metal thing? The only one i am aware of is the ss starcraft marine statue, but the sellers dont try to hide it, even the fake was going for a $200-$300, then i think ebay clamped down on it and now i dont see them anymore. I buy tons of stuff from ebay and never had a fake, only broken/damaged items which i had to return.
Did the fake iron man look authentic? or could you tell right away it's fake, and how do you know it's a fake? missing the stamp/texts at the base?
