his replacement: John Hurt

I think Hurt will be playing another role. I can't see them recasting the part--it sounds like they wrote it to be non-essential so that it could be removed if Connery didn't bite.

Hurt would make a great character in an Indy film. I could see him as a great villain or as a wise older mentor figure. But it would be way too distracting to have him play Henry.

Connery was the best as Indy's father. I'm just not going to buy this guy below.

OMG, what happened to him. Looks like someone beat him with a stick.

That's what chainsmoking all of your life does to you. You age faster and your skin wrinkles like a prune.

That really sucks. I hope they write him out because no else really follows Connery well. Funny thing is I read the article in Connery's voice. Anyone know if Marcus Brody will be in the film?

PLEASE write him out! OR Just...make a computer version of him and uh.....there ya go. It worked for all of ROTS.

Denholm Elliott passed away back in 1992.
Yeah, but will he be in the new movie?

And I thought the rest of this thread title was going to be "...of the closet."

It's better that Connery not have his name attached to this piece of crap.

Can't be worse than having his name attached to Highlander 2 or Zardoz :lol

I like how I am the only one who actually likes that Indy's dad isn't in this movie. The first two don't have him and they were great! What makes Indy great is that it's all about the adventure and the specific quest, not if his dad is in the film. I'd be more concerned with Ford being able to pull it off, the guys obviously makes movies now for just a paycheck. Sad to see him in some many bad films, at least What Lies Beneath was change of pace and that was like 7 years ago. Spielberg is my only hope for Indy 4.

LOL...I may actually agree with you.

My expectations are VERY low for this movie. I hope I am wrong though!

Movies are made different now and I just have a bad feeling about this.

I REALLY hope they don't use a lot of lame CGI either.
