Were vintage SW figures re-released in 1995?

Still have this 4 pack...ironically, I have almost every original vintage figure except for the ANH Luke...so, the reproduction is cool to have....and yeah, it did make people mad back then....

That Walmart early bird kit was just an homage to the classic line - it had all modern figures

Yeah, I remember that throw-back "early bird" set; do wish I had a vintage one of those

Walmart did the Early Bird reproduction too, except that the figures looked nothing like the vintage ones. I remember these clogging up the clearance aisle after awhile.

Yeah, I remember these clogging up the clearance isles as well. The funny thing is, this early bird mail away had an expiration date, which means Wal-Mart was trying to clearance and sell an item that was worthless because the expiration date had already passed. I remember this because I almost bought one of them on clearance, then noticed the date, which was already 6 months past the expiration. I often wonder how many people bought those things and didn't realize they were getting an expired piece of crap...
