what's up with the website? i wanna order but it says the site doesn't have a security certificate and it advises me not to send any info. i was already victim to the cornerstore comics fiasco. i don't wanna risk it again.

A little hesitant to speak freely, knowing Tim is reading this but edition size of 2000? These shields are very nice but at this edition size I'm not worried that they'll sell out anytime soon. The weapons plaques took some time to sell out and that was at the height of the LOTR hoopla and most of those have barely retained their value. At an edition size of 500 I would have been worried and jumped on them. This way I'll wait for the secondary market (I think, I may be too eager to get my hands on that Numenorean Shield ), especially since I got a thing for the Silver Tree.

Yes, 2000 is a fairly large edition size and sure they are not going to sell out in a super hurry, but at the same time they are rather cheap. So what with the Hobbit re-firing general interest, then once word gets out from the more limited 'forum sphere', then I'd say they will do pretty well.
Besides, the weapon sets had an ES of 2500 and cost $5 more then the shields and that's going back a number of years. So its not bad value and so far, apart from the pin at the back, no one has really had a bad word to say about them.
Still, will be interesting to see how long it takes to sell out, I suspect the Gil Galad one will be first, but when your relaunching a line, wouldn't it be nice to give both old and new collectors a fair chance to get in on it.

800-1000 would have been much better but I'm not sure if it would have been worth it for Weta to keep them too limited.

Well, there is a production cost vs returns to keep in mind. I'm sure they could have made it an ES of 600, but if that then means the cost would have been say $50, would they have sold any better.
Given the size, etc (and lets face it, they are not very big), at $50 each the ES would have had to been very low for many to purchase them.
Just think, come christmas time, a youngish kid, starting to read the books or see the film, becoming a bit of a fan but doesn't really have 'anything'. A $35 mini but official film 'replica' could make a perfect present and make the poor kid a doomed collector for life

Yeah it says pre order items £7.05, is this the shipping cost from the UK ware house also will they not had VAT.
Did you order all 3 GG if so what was total cost

Yeah, I ordered all three The 7.05 is shipping I believe and my total was £82ish (all three and shipping). They may well add VAT, no idea until they are ready to be charged I suppose
