I'm kind of interested in Godzilla, as I love the original film, and was wondering, what are some pretty cool Godzilla figures? The Japanese obviosuly love that kind of ^^^^, and they've marketed the hell out of the character in every medium, so I'm sure there's more than a few neat things available. I just want something I can display with my Sideshow or NECA stuff.

At a recent con, this guy had a really bad ass, animatronic, remote control Godzilla with a rubber suit, that must have been over two feet tall. I'm not that privy to Godzilla stuff, but he was asking 500 for it. I would say that is probably the coolest giant monster toy I've ever seen. Like me, you don't even have to be a hardcore Godzilla fan to appreciate how nice that thing is.

From what I understand, Medicom alsodid a Godzilla figure. How is that? Would any big fans recommend that?

I'm a huge Godzilla fan. For price and quality, you can't go wrong with Bandai Japan's figures. X-Plus did some nice statues. If you can track them down and are ok with the price, Kaiyodo made some great vinyl model kits.

As for the Medicom figure, any pictures I've ever seen, it looks ok, but doesn't quite capture the look of the 1954 Godzilla well, he almost looks cartoony.

There was a review for the Medicom Godzilla (1954) a while back on MWCtoys.com: https://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_091605b.htm

Medicom released two 12" Godzilla figures, one representing the first Godzilla (1954), and the other being the King Kong vs. Godzilla incarnation.

It's a pretty cool figure, and the "G.I. Joe in a rubber suit" gimmick is neat.

Takara tried the same thing with their smaller Godzilla toys from the Micro Man series. I have a couple of them.

As for the electronic walking Godzilla toys, you might be able to find some on ebay at varying prices. There are cheaper versions that only walk, and more expensive versions having more features (roaring, arm waving, etc).

Toys R us has the Bandai 12" vinyl Godzilla for $15. I believe it was clearanced from about $30. It's really a must have, considering lack of quality Godzilla stuff on the States.

I recently looked at that, ended up passing because I have the Japanese Future Wars Godzilla, but that one is pretty badass. For $15 I should have gotten it, guess I'll go back and see if he's still around.

Thats actually my figure, I did the guest review. I think its an awesome figure and still to this day one of my personal favorites. If you are looking for a 1/6 style figure I don't think you could do better.

There are some Vinyl ones which have probably a better overall sculpt so thats an option too. And that R/C is very awesome, I've seen them a couple of times (also a Mothra) and $500 seems to be about as cheap as you'll find them.

I actually own a couple of the old Trend Masters toys from when I was little. Those are actually really nice, but way too small.

Anyway, that is a really nice review, and I am definitely looking for that Medicom figure for a reasonable price.

What are the best representations of the classic 1954 Gojira? It is one of my all time favorite horror films, and I believe that was Godzilla at his most frightening.

I remember reading that review, great job!

I'm surprised that no one's done anything remotely PF-quality for Godzilla. Almost everything is cheap merchandise. Come on, Sideshow, there's an opportunity here! :monkey5

Some of the larger Godzilla pieces (although still Vinyl) are very well done and at least the prices are high end. There are some statues and what-not that I've seen.

But still for my money the 1954 Medicom is about as cool as it gets for 1/6.

My son has a huge collection of Godzilla toys from Bandai. It was his high point of SW Celebration III when I bought him a toy Mothra, King Ghidorah and Gigan at a stand.

I've always wanted a Godzilla pf , but I'm doubting that will ever happen.
Not from the newer movie obviously , the classic look.

Do you know where I can get the 12" Medicom for a good price?

eBay is your best bet, but I've seen them sell for under $100. To me at that price he'd be totally worth it. Right now the cheapest BIN is for about $150 shipped... which is too high I think you can definitely get it for less.

Today, I won what I think is the 1954 version of the Medicom figure, for 74.99 shipped from Japan.
