I have a sizeable Bandai and Trendmasters Godzilla collection. Y-MSF did some good 6in stuff as well, and Banpresto did some really cool Yuji Sakai scupted quasi-kits a few years ago. I also have an almost finished(been that way for 10 years now) Yuji Sakai sculpted Kaiyodo Mosu-Goji closed mouth.

have fallen out a bit lately, mostly due to the fact nothing new/interesting has come out lately.

I've wondered that as well... I have some of the SOC Shogun Warrior figures and they are awesome :rock

I have the smaller 5" Godzilla, Ghidorah and Mecha-Godzilla from Trend Masters from when I was little. They're actually quite nice for their size. Would you happen to have the ULTIMATE ZILLA from the 1998 film? Say what you will about the movie, but from what I've seen, that toy looks pretty neat.

I have a HUGE Godzilla collection, but much is boxed up.To be honest, no one on earth sculpts the big G as well as Yuji Sakai. ANY kit sculpted by him is worth whatever you pay for it. These new Bandai figures are cool too. I have a pretty decent set of those, but the Kaiyodo vinyl kits are the BEST way to go for accurate versions of the big guy.

There was a great 12" 1954 available in brown (color) and greys, a few years back that rules! I have mine standing on my computer beside me. I'll get a pic. Any of the 12" sculpts tend to look better than the smaller, more available ones. X-Facto made some cool ones a year or so back also.

Truth is, the best Godzillas take some searching, and the kits rule this roost. No doubt about it. The vinyls over the resins. Remember the name, Yuji Sakai!

Some here on my website Godzilla page:

Some in my collection in the link in my sig below. More pics there in fact. Go see!

Anyway, good luck!

BTW, For me, forget the Steve Martin figure, Dr's Yamane and Serizawa all the way! Yemane rules! Japanese original version > American reworked original! Any day!

Totally agree... I was so excited when I finally got to see the original version when it was recently released on DVD. So much better, the Americanized version just doesn't stack up.

My "G" freakdom has recently revved up, and I've been watching several interesting items. The Medicon figures show up fairly regularly on Ebay; I'm thinking I prefer the Kingoji version(62), as this is my sentimental favorite. Aside from being the first Godzilla movie I saw, it also is the closest to the first version of the character that I owned; the Aurora kit, which for many years was the ONLY version I knew. The most intrigueing collectible is a puppet version of the '64 suit, 16" tall and produced by a Japanese company that translates to MEGAHOUSE. There is one currently up on Ebay; can't afford it, but I'm watching it anyway.Any Ebay search dor the character is an exercise in dedication, as literally hundreds of items appear daily...PS

I used to have some Bandai G's and my favorite was the Burning version. This Bandai figure was pretty much all orange and extremely limited. But, I seem to remember a bigger version being released and it was like 4 foot tall or something in that range with an LOW run. Does anyone have that version? I'm going to search the net and see what I come up with. Cool figures everyone! G rocks! :rock

EDIT: Here is a link to the Giant Burning Godzilla auction on ebay. There was a smaller version that looked exactly like this and it had the hang tag.

This Giant version is 24" tall, 40" long and 18" wide......impressive! This was Limited to 4000....more than I thought.

One of the great godzilla sculpts was by bowen, his version of Kongzilla, an obvious fusion of king kong and Godzilla, pick it up if you can it's a great piece.

Well, my collection has increased by 2. I'm having another crack at the Aurora kit(going for glowing fins and eyes) ,and I have also gotten the Medicom '62 figure. The"human" figure is not so hot(think of an under-sized old Joe) but the outer suit is great.I've already hit the dorsals with glow paint, and I'm going to fabricate a more solid armature for it, so that it will be truly poseable. Ebay is auch a wonderful, terrible thing!...PS

I still remember the Medicom one, which to me, is the ultimate Godzilla film collectible (I always wanted a 1970s King Kong with super posable actor inside, which would be My ultimate KK film collectible). Love the concept of a figure in a figure. Call me crazy, but I loved the 70s version (not King Kong Lives though...like wtf?)

Some of the larger Godzilla pieces (although still Vinyl) are very well done and at least the prices are high end. There are some statues and what-not that I've seen.

But still for my money the 1954 Medicom is about as cool as it gets for 1/6.

So is the 1954 Version the suit version w/ Joe inside???

Or is that a different one?

This thread needs more pics

Medi did 2 versions, '54 and '62. Both are 'figure in suit' figures. If the '54 is half as cool as the '62 then it must be awesome, because my '62 is uber-cool...PS

I have the '54, and even though the figure is close to 10 years old it is still one of my favorites :rock

And I'd love to see a Kong to go with him... there was a Gamera that I saw that looked pretty kickass.

anything smaller than 12 inches makes no sense for Godzilla.

90% of my collection is 6" Bandai figures and I'm very satisfied with it. If you're going to collect a few select pieces, 12" or bigger is the way to go, but if you're going to collect lots, that can be a space eater. I have a figure for every G suit but 1962 and because of their size, they all fit in a small box, easy to hod onto.
