In another life I was a chef.

This is chicken fried rice made with little bits of things leftover. The potstickers are store bought. The thing on the left is Pot de Creme, which is cream, sugar, and chocolate simmered for a bit and mixed with egg yolks. I made that with my oldest. My kids are exellent cooks, but I tend to bark at them like they are on the line. They are cool with it. So they say...

Covid infection in May destroyed my sense of smell and taste. They say it could last for years....

Coffee, popcorn, beef, onions garlic and host of other foods smell awful and taste rotten.

So it's a big win to find a ham and provolone toasted sub with banana peppers be a safe food to eat

That sounds terrible. Those are some of the primary flavor boosters for food too. It took my daughter a while, but her sense of smell and taste did come back so hang in there.

LOL. It was great. It's a WW2 recipe so the portions were like 3oz per pot and I was all "Nope.".

I love me some chocolate. I've got some huge Belgian chocolate bombs from Sam's Club and heavy cream so I might try your recipe tonight. Is there anything else to add to it, like liquor, or vanilla extract?

This was a couple of days ago, but I took a pic so here we are.

Churro waffle (Krusteaz) with homemade strawberry syrup, and churro whipped cream (honey & cinnamon) with a side of airfried sweet potatoes and fajita seasoned pork chops.

A friend came over and wanted waffles. I think I may have gone overboard. This is breakfast for dinner, for the record.

You add a bit of vanilla. I'm away from my cook book.

This basically it, I just simplified and used semi sweet chocolate and 1/3 cup sugar. The important part it seems is reducing the cream for ten minutes after it has come to a bubble. A bubble, not a boil. You can bring it to a boil, but you will need to stir constantly to prevent the milk fat from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

From there I transferred into the jars in the pic.
