Last night I saw Billy Joe Shaver, who wrote just about the whole album "***** Tonk Heroes," which is considered the album that gave Jennings the "outlaw" image. Amazing show from an amazing songwriter. This song is about an incident outside a bar, where a guy shot at Shaver, and he responded and shot the guy in the face! Hardcore.
