Sorry for the (slight) necropost but I recently started Bloodborne. Well, I'd like to start but character creation has me flustered.

I'm too OCD for this ****.

Just started. I was doing side missions before progressing the story. It's where you need to hunt the Griffin.

Yeah, that's at the very beginning. White Orchard's a really small map, so you should try to complete most, if not all of the Witcher contracts before fighting the Griffin. That includes the Devil in the Well contract, too.

For the Griffin, make sure to upgrade up Igni. Swallow and Thunderbolt come in very handy as potions as well.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition.

The Necromancer is awesome.

I'm currently playing it on PS4 - He is most awesome indeed.
(it takes me back to Diablo 2 with the Necromancer - yes, I'm old as :) )

It's the most fun I've had for ages - Bone Spear for the win...

When I first played it, I did kill it, but I think I had trouble in doing so. It takes a long time to level up. I'll try to get to level 4-5 before I take it on.

Geralt is such a badass. It's one of the few games I play that my wife stops whatever she's doing to watch.

Yeah, once you start taking on the Witcher contracts and side missions, you'll be leveling up much faster. Just remember to take your time, because it's a long ass game (I think I took over 120 hours for my first playthough :lol).

Something to keep in mind... aside from completing missions and contracts, drawing energy from a Place of Power will also give you one Ability Point, so it's good to find them around the maps. At this stage, I'd recommend placing most (if not all) of your ability points towards upgrading your magic skills (Igni and Aard are good choices for now). Igni works great for burning drowners and in the fight with the Griffin, too.

Also... get rid of your Witcher armor set as fast as you can, and find some better clothes. I think there are some treasure chests around in White Orchard that'll give you some.

I've been tempted to buy The Witcher III but I find the length and size of it to be daunting. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that kind of commitment. :lol

I think how involved the game is, and it's length is the reason I didn't stick with it before. It's definitely the most overwhelming sandbox game I've ever encountered. I'd love for the same team to do a Berserk game.

Yeah, I think that's the reason why most people shy away from Witcher 3, it's requires a huge time commitment and there's a significant amount of things to do. If CDPR did a Berserk game, they'd knock it out of the park.

Corpse Explosion is pretty great too. :)

I killed the Griffin again, I was level 3 and he was fairly easy. I had saved it prior just in case I got my ass kicked. Now I'm moping up all the question mark areas and I want to do any remaining missions before leaving the Orchard.

Nice! :clap. Be sure to complete the Devil of the Well contract and replace the Griffin head with the Noonwraith. It'll get you an extra 5% experience point for killing humans and non-humans. Also, if you've got the alchemy ingredients for it, make the Grapeshot bomb (you'll need bombs to neutralize the monster nests - I think there are a few in White Orchard).
