I became aware of Finger's contribution in the late 90's I think, but of course it wasn't as exposed since DC wanted to bury the issue to avoid trouble. This piece really digs deep into all the crap Bill Finger had to endure and it's really sad that Bob Kane now comes off as not only a selfish douche, but a villain as well (not that anyone isn't aware of the former!) I seriously implore any Bat fan to check this out.
