What do you think the next 12" will be?

I would be happy to have a few preorders as fast as the Star Wars stuff. Aragorn exceeded anything I might have expected in terms of quality. Not that Sideshow ever produced sub-par stuff, but I am blown away moving from a Freddy that comes with a phone, and a relatively tame and easy outfit to the glut of accessories and the amount of detail that Sideshow are loading in with LOTR and SW.

Gandalf will be a cool fig, but the thing that will make or break it for me will be his hat. The Toybiz GtG had a decent sculpt, the root hair wasn't great by any stretch, but the hat looked terrible.

I think that Gandalf (Grey or White), Legolas, Boromir, or Saruman are the most likely to be next. I'd like to see a GtG with pipe and dragon firework or book from Balin's Tomb maybe as the exclusives.

There's no 'meh' character for me in LOTR like SW's Kit Fisto, so I wants 'em to annouce some more asap. The real question for me is not 'who' but 'when'??

I would hope for a Gandalf the White in a good likeness, though an Orc in Siege of Gondor attire would not go unappreciated .

I don't see any point in them doing Gollum. The big draw of 1/6 figures is the costumes, and Gollum is practically naked.

I don't see a Gollum coming our way either. But it's not the lack of a costume that makes me doubt it's appearance in the 12" line. It's his body. It would require SSC to make a complete new body, and I'm not just talking about the size. Since Gollum is almost naked, the body would need to look like Gollums body, and therefore it would only be usable for Gollum. I don't think SSC will do that.
I agree, that besides the facial likeness of a character, the costume is a particular challenge. That's why I'd like to see SSC do Haldir in battle outfit soon. I am also looking forward to some prologue characters: Isildur, Elendil, a prologue elf in battle dress...). A fully armored Moria Orc would be swell too, but there's the body issue again...

i was never into the whole 12" collecting until i saw that SS announced the star wars line, but once i saw the Aragon pics I'm hooked. IMO its the best looking one i've seen. im trying to get all the LOTR now.
