I'm sure someone else posed this question before... but what happened to this figure?

I remember seeing this figure at SDCC in 2004. I've been checking it's status sporadically ever since and haven't heard a thing.

Does anyone out there know of the figure's fate?

I'd be interested in knowing that too... not the best headsculpt, but still would be pretty cool!

In person the sculpt was pretty good. I'm dying for this figure too, but it seems to have disappeared off the radar, just like the special edition DVD of the movie.

WOW!!! She looks awesome.

...don't kill me, perhaps it is the angle of the pic, but doesn't she kinda look like Britney Spears?

I seem to recall that at the time this picture was released it was going to be for Asia only. So it would be really difficult to find.

Unless a person had already cracked that nut by finding out how to order a Hot Toys Superman or a Takara Batman. :rotfl

Wish I knew, I haven't seen these anywhere, I doubt if they were released.

I believe they didn't end up getting the license, so they changed her a bit and released her as this one: https://www.hlj.com/product/TAK66315

No. That's "Best of" Cool Girl Nikki which is a completely different figure but made by the same company,Takara, that designed the Bride figure.

I remember somebody on the MWD forum saying that Takara still had plans to release it overseas but never got around to it. I think the major problem with releasing the figure is that Takara got bought out by another company last year, I believe it was Bandai but I'm not 100% sure, anyways the new company was having problems with either the liscense or had another liscense that conflicted with the Kill Bill liscense. Either way I doubt we'll see this figure any time soon.

I believe it was Bandai that bought them too. Takara however has stayed to their Cool Girl plan so far with the new upcoming Jin Roh figures which I believe were announced at the same time as the Bride but didn't have a prototype until recently.
Best of Cool Girl Nikki was renamed Harley for release if anyone is confused. I have one and the helmet is the same as the one that the Bride was supposed to come with albeit a different color.

Right, that's what I meant. They just took the Bride's kit and changed it around a bit for Harley/Nikki. Not saying she's meant to be the Bride.

Pretty sweet, I'd buy the GOD Bride :monkey5

And the Kill Bill Special Editions since I;ve passed on the bare bones.

Yeah, what happened to that figure? I was actually going to buy that one, and I just forgot about it. That's a shame because I love the movies.

Cheers,

Brad

Okay, here are the facts as I have heard them: Takara was bought by TOMY( not Bandai). " The Bride" was a victim of licensing difficulties, reportedly due to Tarentino being a bit of a dick about it. this info comes from my wife, who is an avid Cy-collector and haunts the various Takara and Cy-dedicated boards. The part about Tarentino doesn't surprise me at all...PS

I'd love if SS was able to acquire a PF license to produce KILL BILL figures, but i doubt it will happen because most people, like me, would probably only get the Bride.
