Apart from limited edition releases with give-aways, is there every any reason to really pre-order a game? Seems like they pretty much always get released in higher quantities than they need to. I'm asking because I honestly don't know. I haven't been a serious video game player since my SNES days.

Nope, that's pretty much the only reason to pre-order a game. At least, it is for me. I imagine some Freaks don't live close to a reliable game retailer and find it easier having their games shipped directly to them.

Amazon will sometimes give you a $10 credit on a future game order when you preorder some titles.

Just Dead Space 2 Collectors and Mortal Kombat Tournament. I don't usually pre-order unless the incentive for doing so entices me to or a retailer exclusive item comes with it that I think it may be hard to snag later.

Yeah... I don't pre-order without an incentive... even then, you can get games just a few months down the road for like half price anyways.

But I'm looking forward to Dissidia 012 (so tired of traditional fighters, need more fighters with this kind of freedom) and Crysis 2.
