Yeah... I don't pre-order without an incentive... even then, you can get games just a few months down the road for like half price anyways.

Every set of Halo (3, Reach) Legendary game proves this. They had a Reach Legendary set at Best Buy for $69 last weekend. $10 more than a regular copy is almost worth it IMO. If I didn't already have the game collecting dust on my shelf I would've bought it.

Apart from limited edition releases with give-aways, is there every any reason to really pre-order a game? Seems like they pretty much always get released in higher quantities than they need to. I'm asking because I honestly don't know. I haven't been a serious video game player since my SNES days.

I buy everything from Amazon nowadays and I really don't keep up with release dates anymore. When a game is coming that I want I just preorder it on Amazon and get it on my doorstep on the release day. I know of at least one time where a game showed up on my door that I hadn't even known was coming out yet.

That's pretty funny. The last game I bought in a store was DC Universe, but that was an impulse buy. Everything else is on pre-order on Amazon. I just cancelled my Bulletstorm order because I doubt I'll play it more than once.

I'm so glad you can put however much down as you want on a game because I've got ALOT on preorder.

Also to ViperSRT,I wonder what item they would include? A pair of sunglasses? Maybe some replica steroids or even a BFG?

I never buy games at retail stores anymore..well anything for that matter really.

95% of my games are purchased on Amazon, I sometimes get sweet deals like gift cards towards another game and delivered on release day, no line, no rush, no overpaying. Unless of course some other e-tailer such as gamestop has some exclusive content I want. But usually....they don't.
