No rules. Could be free, paid, big, small, item, mission.

Playing through Mass Effect 2 again reminded me of how perfect Lair of the Shadow Broker is. It gave you a few more hours of play, brought back my fave Liara into the fold, and built upon the series lore. there was also some neat dossier extras at the end too.

I don't buy a lot of dlc, because there's a lot of crap publishers put out the, but I remember being incredibly disappointed by the Epilogue DLC from Prince of Persia (2008). It did nothing to continue the game's story and detracted from the original ending.

Besides RE5's Lost in Nightmares. I'd say the zombie DLC for Red Dead Redemption.

Worst, besides Oblivions horse armor? :lol

The shadow battles for marvel vs capcom 3. Nearly pointless if you already have access to the internet.

Okay, horse armor is probably the strongest contender for 'worst'. :lol

I should have said "least favorite" in the title.

I've heard Red Dead's Undead Nightmare is fantastic. Honestly, I've never done any DLC prior to Arkham City.

My fave DLC would have to be from Arkham City because I love doing the challenges. I've spent so much time getting up to #1 on the leader board for Robin but I think I'm #5 now :lol.

I agree with Bio about the MvC3 shadow battles.

I actually buy quite a bit of DLC, mostly for RPGs. The story-based ones for Mass Effect, Oblivion, Saints Row 3, and Fallout 3 were all super fun and worth every penny. I haven't gotten around to playing the DLC for either Dragon Age games or Borderlands yet, but did just start on the Fallout : New Vegas and really liking it.

So far, I'd say either ME2's Lair of the Shadow Broker or Fallout 3's Point Lookout would be my favorite.

My least favorite would probably be challenge-based stuff like the Nightwing and Robin DLCs for Arkham City.

BEST:
Fallout 3's Broken Steel which actually rewrote the original games ending and extended the main storyline

Oblivion's Shivering Isles which was a DLC so big it was bigger than most other companies full size games.

WORST:
...not sure.
I tend to forgive the 'horse armor debacle' because it was sort of the dawn of DLC and Bethesda were testing the waters to see what was possible. They have since become the best provider of DLC.

Probably the car codes for Test Drive Unlimited which were basically unlock codes for content that was already on the disc.

....actually any company that puts content on the disc and then makes yoy pay to unlock it. I despise that.

Borderlands - Island of Dr. Zed
BC2 - Vietnam

Can't think of a worst but it's probably something Capcom charges one to unlck from the disc.

Definitely Undead Nightmare for RDR. Besides an awesome add on campaign, they even added multiplayer too it.

Strong 2nd contenders would be Fallout 3's Broken Steel, Oblivion's Shivering Isles.

Least fave:

Left 4 Dead's 1st DLC that added that lame mini campaign.
