Back in the Seventies, when I was a kid MEGO was THE king when it came to action figures. It seems they owned EVERY license in the world, yet they passed on Star Wars!!! . I remember the figures were made in Hong Kong and as a 7 year old from New Jersey , Hong Kong seemed SO FAR away , adding to the coolness of the figures. I had Batman, Robin, Superman, Shazam,Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman, Kirk and Spock, Dukes of Hazard, 12” Superman, 12” Hulk, Starsky and Hutch , with car (which was ALL kinds of Cool!) I even had some little rascals and the Tin Man from Wizard of oz! I even had the Fonz ! :lol What are your memories? Do you still own any? I wish I still had mine!

I didn't have many as a kid since I was born in 1978... still though I do remember at least owning the 3 3/4" Star Trek the Motion Picture figures. Currently I have a few Mego items on display:

Zira, Buckwheat, The Fonz, Spider-Man, Captain Kirk and The Gorn!!!

But I have to agree with you... Mego really had some awesome figures. Just checking out Mego Museum takes hours to get through all the content.

We only had a few, as my brother and I were more into the GI Joe Adventure Team than Mego at the time. And then came the Six Million Dollar Man figure, etc...

I remember having Batman, Robin, Kirk, Bones and two Fonzes; one for each of us. One of my neighbours had the Thing and the Hulk, so we'd often have little battles in the sandbox with our figures. I still remember how cool we thought it was that the Fonz had an articulated thumb for his "Ayyyyyy!" pose.

I also remember, even at 6 years old, thinking of how stupid his hands looked when the thumbs were folded down. Even back then, I was having issues with articulation vs. sculpt.

Yeah... but luckily the Fonz can live most of his life with the thumbs up pose. The only time I drop the thumbs down is if I have to pack him for moving :lol

I forgot I did have the buckwheat figure as well. Unfortunately , I remember playing that he was saving Superman from some villain and he had to "touch a light bulb" to rescue him and his fingers melted! Oh the mind of a child! :lol

Had lots of them back in the day, but none of them survived my childhood. I do have a large Spider-Man in my collection now.

Many a figure met a similar fate during my childhood. Toys were meant to be played with and by default f'd up :lol

I love the Buckwheat figure though... such a random toy to have made :rock

Although my favorite is the Gorn. 1) because its my all time favorite Star Trek alien and 2) because it is such a crappy figure. 100% resued parts from a POTA body, Marvel Lizard head (inexplicably cast in brown :huh) and a Klingon outfit :rock :rock :rock

Spider-Man (I wish I knew how many I went through as a kid. Perhaps dozens? The shoulder would always seem to break... I know I had a couple 12" versions in there)
Hulk, Batman and Robin were the four I remember most vividly.

I also had Superman, Joker, Penguin and Iron Man... that I remember.

Mego really was great. I was born in '72 so Mego was everything until about 1980. I had a ton of stuff:

*** 8" Figures ***

- The Mummy, The Wolf-Man (or Werewolf)

-Starsky & Hutch,

-Planet of the Apes: Cornelius, General Ursus, Dr Zaius

-Batman, Robin, Batmobile, Spider-Man, Spider-Man Car ?, Superman, Mr. Mxyzptlk, The Hulk, The Thing, Captain America, The Lizard, Green Goblin

*** 3-3/4" Figures ***

Batman, Robin w/Batmobile, Joker w/Exploding Bridge playset, Spider-Man, Hulk, Capt America, Superman, Aquaman,

That brings back memories.

I was born in 1980, so MEGO's time had passed by the time I started getting into toys. But I still had a few--Superman, Spiderman, blonde guy from Dukes of Hazzard, Captain Kirk, and a beat up Green Goblin head that I found in my grandma's shed.

I would like to pick up the Teen Titans one of these days.

Regarding the Pocket Heroes, I had Spidey, Hulk, Spiderman's car, Superman, and Batman.

Almost forgot Mxyzptlk.... Or however it's ____ing spelled.

Super lame figure, but I had one....

On a side note, anyone remember the oven mit looking gloves for Batman and Robin? :lol

My Batman & Robin spent most of their days bare-handed.

I forgot about the Soldier ape, I had him as well.

The Evel Knievel stuff was awesome! I had the stunt cycle and rocket car (I forgot what it's actually called). I'm surprised that my knuckles weren't permanentely scarred from constantly scraping them on the concrete while turning the hand-crank. :lol

Batgirl and Isis (I still have them) and I swear I used to have Uhura.

My brothers had Batman and Robin and Star Trek and S.W.A.T. Figures.

Let's see figure wise I had Batman, Robin, Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Hulk, Aquaman, Captain America, thor, Lizard, Falcon, green Goblin, the Planet of the Apes figures, batcave playset, batcopter, batmobile, batcycle, there was also a BatVan and a Joker Van.
As for the pocket heroes I pretty much had all of them
Plus the batcave, batmobile, Dukes of Hazzard General Lee etc, I went through both the bended legs versions and the straight leg ones.
Also had some of the 12" figs, Batman, Robin, Spiderman, Hulk are the ones I remember. I also had the Batman and Spiderman larger versions with the magnets in their hands

I have a Jor-El Pocket Hero I picked up for $1 at a antique store a few years ago. Never knew what it was (just thought it looked cool) until a couple months ago.

Pretty cool series of figures, one I'm considering getting into.

I still have a couple of my surviving Mego WGSH figures and a few others that I have replaced over the years.

I had several Spideman figures and a few Batman and Superman figures, also. When I was about 7 or 8 years old I was tossing Spiderman up in the air and letting him float down to Earth on a homemade parachute (no idea why a chute). One throw landed him up in a tree. About 15 years later I went up and got him down. His outfit had crumbled away, but the rest of him was fine. Still have him today.

I had and still have the Mego Star Trek figs., also a pretty decent collection of Mego Micronauts, that have long since disappeared.

Still have all my Mego, Muhammad Ali figures (Ali, Opponent(Frazer) and the Ring, all mint-on-mint cards.

I loved the Micronauts figures!

Mego was really cool!
They were among my first and favorite action figures along with Madelman.

I had the Black Knight and the Mummy, and my brother had Launcelot and Galahad or Ivanhoe.
Wonderful figures, wish I could get them now...
