Here are the choices:

Dreamgirls - good music and good acting

The Hitcher - scary... and Sean Bean :naughty

Alpha Dog - mmmmmm.... JT :naughty :naughty

Freedom Writers - yay teachers!

Notes on a Scandal - oooooh, naughty teachers!

Children of Men - bleak but brilliant

The Good Shepherd - spies... and Matt Damon :naughty

Night at the Museum - just fun (I liked Jumanji)

Letters from Iwo Jima - a must see

Blood Diamond - heard great things, but Leo has a weird accent

The Holiday - nice date movie

Come on Freaks, make my decision for me ;)

Skip Dreamgirls-That one might be one of the most overyhyped movies ever.

Skip The Holiday unless you're on a romantic date.

Freedom Writers could be good but that could be job bias coming into play. :lol

I'd go see Night at the Museum but just because I'm in the mood for a laugh.

have you seen it?

Honestly no. I've seen enough ads for it (as well as Beyonce) and enough stuff on TV. I can't bring myself to see it now.

well, i saw Night at the Museum last week. Really good movie. I went to watch it without any expectation and I was really impressed how well done the cinematics were. Also, the story was well written, IMO. Really fun movie to watch. Good luck.

I rented Crank and I would have to say that was one of the worst movies I have seen all year. Except for the part in China town and the end. That being the credits. :D The transporter and Snatch were way better. I love Turkish but Crank was no biggie.

Have you seen Pan's Labyrinth yet?

I've heard good things about Children of Men. That's the one I want to see.

Would depend on your mood and what mood you want to be in afterwards, right? I can give you MY choices (rank ordered) and you go from there?

1. Children of Men - bleak and disturbing, but very very good
2. Notes on a Scandal - (haven't seen yet) but getting good buzz for the acting
3. Dreamgirls - just to see the "American Idol" reject throw it back at them with a neener-neener...Jennifer Hudson is heartbreaking and I even appreciated Eddie Murphy
4. The Good Shepherd - very serious and low-key dissection of the spy game; moves a bit slow at times, but engrossing
5. Letters from Iwo Jima (haven't seen yet) - also getting good buzz
6. Night at the Museum (haven't seen yet) - seems lotsa fun
6. Blood Diamond - Leo's weird accent works after you give yourself the first coupla minutes to adjust; his performance is great, but story got a bit thin in places

I haven't any desire to see the rest, so... :(

I myself will be going to see Pan's Labyrinth and The Queen this weekend -- they FINALLY are getting shown in town.

Have fun whatever you choose!

I have seen Pan's Labyrinth... twice! And it rocks.

I will probably go for Children of Men. But maybe Night at the Museum... I just love that part in the commercials when he's fighting with the monkey :lol

I saw Night at the Museum, it was great and Ben Still HAM's it up as always.

Children of Men was awesome, you can't go wrong with this one.

My wife is a teacher and she read the book by Erin Gruwell, she loved it. Plus Hilary Swank is in it so it has to be good.

Don't listen to these people Dusty. Go see the Holiday with this guy:

Whoever thinks Crank is pure crap, yet Transporter is good is on glue. Crank is a phenominal movie. Was the only movie I bought for 2006. Not because it's my favorite movie of 2006 but because it's the most rewatchable.

But that wasn't Dusty's question what DVD or television show she wants to see tonight. Don't you just hate it when people don't answer the question you asked? lol

Anyway, since Dusty asked which of the forementioned movies to go see (albeit I am a little late on this), go see Children of Men. Great movie!

P.S. Concerning the person who didn't like Crank. I was just teasing you but how can you say that movie is bad especially with how fast paced that it is. It's a man's movie...lots of action, things getting blown up, T n A, sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll!

Dreamgirls is probably the best musical of the modern age - better than Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Grease 2... But I love musicals.

Children of Men is depressing and dark, but also a great film.

Night at the Museum is pure crap - some of the effects are interesting, but it's about as funny as Duplex. There is no reason for the movie to exist except to show off the effects.

Good Shepherd - an excellent history lesson, don't go sleepy.

Letters from Iwo Jima - see above.

Holiday - Cute and fuzzy - Kate Winslet is fantastic - but for Dusty there's also Jude Law.

Haven't seen the others, but hearing great things about Notes from a Scandal.
