With the dollar soon, but surely becoming extinct, what would you invest in if you had a few thousand dollars to play with? More collectibles, gold, silver, etc??

so I guess you guys all think the US will just continue to rack up trillions of debt and nothing will happen? Good luck ;). I didn't say it would collapse like tomorrow, but something worse than what we saw years ago will happen. It's a good idea to invest in something imo. You guys can keep your sleazy porn stars lol. Yuck.

Property in Vancouver, British Columbia: everybody wants to live here, very few can afford to... OK $1000 won't do it, but if the question was purely investing then yup.

If the dollar would become extinct I would invest in guns and ammo. Going to need them.

This is exactly what I was going to say. When the bottom drops out of the economy of the greatest country, that outsourced everything that made us great, to the rest of the world because CEOs are colon cancer to a functioning system, the only thing we'll have left is our cunning.

Also grab some real estate in South America and anywhere else cheap.

He'll probably be here soon, since these kinds of threads attract him, but teemu would tell you to invest in gold.

Property is the obvious choice for investment but a couple thousand won't cut it.

Gold won't make you a fortune but chances are you won't lose either.

If you're not into porn stars I'd say hookers :D

I think I would go with silver ween. It has actual use. In such a technology driven world, silver is more conductive then copper, just more expensive though. Someone tell me if wrong but I believe silver is also being dug up in less quantities than gold right now. China has most of the gold anyways lol, and the U.S. refuses to share how much Fort Knox has. Weight becomes an issue as well, but unless one has millions to spend on one or the other, silver isn't that bad to transport.
