I have 13 games, and I'm looking to get rid of half of those at least, what do you guys think the best method is? I know my options are the board, ebay, craigslist, and gamestop trade in. What do you guys recommend?

gamestop will give you nothing on trade ins

This guy just popped up on my radar. I've only dealt with him locally though, not sure what his service area is. His prices beat out gamestop in every single case, and he payed cash.

I sent an email to this guy, thx

don't they only give you credit towards future purchases though or do they pay cash out too?

I always try Craigslist first, but if I can't get something sold there, I head over to ebay... :slap

With all the ebay fees and such, seems like selling on ebay would get even less than what gamestop would give me?

Eeew, no way. If your games are in good condition, it's likely that you can get close to MSRP if you sell on Ebay. Of course, Ebay will hit you with a 10% final cost fee, in addition to a few dollars if you opt for a "Buy it Now" style auction. But, it's still way better than facing a blatant rip-off at Gamestop.

A few years ago, I went to Gamestop to trade in Metal Gear Solid 1, and the clerk told me in an excited voice that I'd get $1 in credit for it! :rotfl

I think they will pay cash, but they take an additional 20% off the top.

ah ok, I've never sold videogames individually before, so I had no idea. I haven't even played my 360 since RE5 came out. If I don't hear anything from Mike, I will prolly post em all on ebay since I don't even know what to ask for them.

Just do a search on Ebay, and you can see the maximum bids for the games in auction (as well as the starting bids). You can also check the "Buy it Now" prices that other sellers are asking, and you can then price your games competitively. Use "Buy it Now" if you want to sell your games directly without going through an auction.

I use Amazon and have been for probably a year now. They give you better rates than Gamestop and then you can use the credit for anything.

FYE seems to usually give more cash for used games than Gamestop does but your games have to be virtually scratch free and have the instruction booklets. Best Buys and Toys R Us also trade in games for credit but not cash.

Best buy always seems to have bonus trade in value if you preorder a game (which you can then cancel the preorder). You then get a Best Buy gift card which you can use to buy an Amazon Kindle card that works on any item at Amazon.com.

really all I would like to get out of it is enough to get Gears 3 , I have to look up the prices they usually sell for, but that Mikesclassic guy only made me an offer for 2 of my games for like $8. I have a feeling my games ain't worth ____ :slap

I would go with Best Buy. Idk if they are still running this deal, but I think it was pre order any game and get an extra 40% trade in credit.

Actually It looks like if you pre order Rage or NBA 2k12 between 9/25-10/01 you get an extra 50% trade in credit.

I dont trade or sell my games anymore. You never get anything close to what you should. Plus I only buy games I like and don't like parting with any of them. I always want to go back and replay games when I'm bored.

I know lots of people like to buy games, play them and then trade them for new ones for less than half of what they paid. If you don't want to keep a game forever isn't gamefly or something a better option?

If you ever think you might only play a game once and then never again, just rent it or try eBay. Don't trade your games and get ripped off. They'll give you $15 in credit and sell it for $55. Why let them get that money when you could. Be your own Gamestop. F-them.

I usually don't sell/trade games anymore myself. I did trade the God of War collection and Mortal Kombat 9 for $40 credit towards Gears 3 though (MK only because mine was starting to freeze on me). But indeed you don't get as much for them as you should.

Best Buy gives you a surprisingly decent return on trade-ins.

But there are limits on quantity, like I think only 3 games per platform per year.
