what's the next grail?

what piece do you see as being the next marvel grail and why?

this isn't meant to be for trading investment tips, i'm just curious what you guys think.

None.....the edition sizes have gotten fairly large. I don't see anything becoming the next Doom, 1st X-men dio or grey Hulk vs Spidy dio.

Some stuff will go up of course, but I think we have seen the last of the pieces that go up to 2K unless they release something super limited.

personally, i think the exclusive wolverine comiquette has potential to break the 1k mark. for me, the maskless head was a must, plus there are only 500 of them floating around.

Are we talking statues already released already or statues that could potentially be released and go crazy?

If its the latter I think if they did an exclusive chrome version of Colossus or Silver Surfer with an ES of 500 that would do it...

I don't think grails can really be predicted. Many have tried, most have failed. First people thought that the Darkness PF would be a grail and that's still on second chance.

It depends on too many variables. Honestly, I am partial to the Red Skull exclusive PF, Iron Man 1:1 bust, and the Exclusive Sabretooth LSB. I don't think they will be grails but I also definitely wouldn't chance cancelling them to find them for cheaper.

As far as what has been released, I would say the Stan Winston T-800 Arnold bust will be hot. Just give it a little more time. In person it's just killer cool.

One of the interesting things is that I have a feeling that next grail will sneak under the radar and be something that only the hardcore Marvel fan picked up.

I agree but the relationship is directly related you see. If Marvel were only a modest seller the ES would be low. People ARE picking up Marvel for the love of Marvel but in reality there are people picking up pieces in hopes of another Doom, etc. Which means more sell outs which in turn tells SSC to make more of the next pieces, which pushes ESs higher. Get it?

Cap PF exclusive. No question. Even with a high ES, the fact that the Red Skull will be a great compliment piece (look at the value of Hulk since Thing was announced and shipped) and the fact that he's got not only his movie, but an Avengers movie as well. I have no doubt that this will be a $1000 piece in the next year or so.

My opinion is welcome ( an correct ) all over this board.

I think Portman is "pretty" , but not what I'd call "hot". Again, collar bones and rib cages showing isn't "hot".

And regular Cap looks batter than the exclusive. Accept it.
