I'm just curious what steelbook collecting is all about. I'm not dissing it, I just want an explanation :) cause yeah, I'm always looking for another obsession.

collecting steelbooks is quite addictive but i forced myself into two rules ; i only collect steelbooks of movies i really enjoy and will watch multiple times and their should be inside artwork

They're more limited than regular movies and they have a "premium" sort of packaging, often with significantly nicer artwork.

i only buy them if i can get a real good deal on them. i picked up Batman 89 , Seven and Goodfellas Bluray steelbooks for about 25 bucks over the holidays

It's just another gimic that video companies use to get people to buy dvds instead of pirating. Same thing with cds that have 'bonus' dvds or deluxe packaging. I have 1 steelbook. It's pretty cool but no big deal. I do like the artwork better than the regular release. But they do dent easy.

Well the next time I go to buy a DVD/Blu-ray I'll pick up a steelbook version. I'd definitely be following those same rules if I ended up getting addicted.

This is usually why I buy them. Only for movies I really like though. There's a Steebook collector forum where people will pay $$$$ for some of the rare imports.

I like collecting steelbooks for video games I like. Unfortunately most steel books are releases only for the European versions. Have arkham city and 3 call of duty steelbooks so far.

I don't like steel books. I only have one and that is the Inglourious Basterd (steel book suits that kind of movie), but l would rather have plastic cases for my movies.

Yep Rambo uncut version can sell for $400/500 plus on the bay :horror

I'm a blu-ray steelbook collector myself:Lord of the rings trilogy,Scarface,Gladiator,Troy,Inception,Shutter Island,Batman Begins and The dark knight.

I had thought about getting all the disney ones for my daughters collection of blurays but my god. There are sooo many now and most are quite pricy.

My first steel book was the terminator 2 DVD and video game wise was Halo2 .

For me i feel you get what you pay for and feel a lot nicer and better
quality in the hand.

Give it a whirl and get addicted:lol
