I know we are expecting the droid duo of R2 D2 and C-3PO , but since the pre-order of the tie pilot last year, we have had no new pre-orders or hints at anything new in production. Any one out there have any new news for the star wars medicom 1/6th line?

Their liscense might have expired. Bad news for them if so, but good news for ht if so, as they would need the asia liscense.
Or they may simply be taking a break.

I dunno, but i wish they'd make a new Luke. Still have not gotten a decent one outside of Jedi Luke from SS.

Maybe they're attempting to figure out a way to stay relevant with today's economy and their overpriced, underwhelming figures. :dunno

+1 :rotfl

I'm not a medi-supporter, nor a basher but I haven't been particularly impressed with their figures.

For the most part I agree, however I do like their clones (even though they are a bit skinny) but you're right I wouldn't dream of paying full price for one. I've picked mine up for between £40 - £80 and in that price range I think they are great. The £170 - £190 that initial retail and some ebayers seem to think they are worth, is frankly laughable!

Be interested to see what they would do with some Proper clone variations (Gree, Cody, Arc etc) But your probably right Nam, they'd just leave out the accsessories and jack up the price a bit, LOL!

$180 a pop. Even the Mediest of Medifreaks are starting to choke on the continually high prices. With their failure to come down on MSRP and Sideshow spanking them where it really hurts with the troopers, I wouldn't be surprised if they drop the license or lower their prices and start focusing on aliens and droids.

I think Medi should let the license go and focus on their skinny anime figures.

Certain figs I still like from them. I like my Anakin far more than the SSC version

yah, i still dig their anime figures. the death note and akira stuff looks great...so do their versions of snake from medal gear solid. i really liked their boba fett and jango fett. both of which i will add to my collection at some point if the price is right. but as far as sw...ss is king...imo.

I agree from a price point they are hard to concentrate on collecting, however I find from a quality perspective they are far better even on current sideshow offerings. Sideshows sculpts, extras i.e weapons, and prices are amazing but there always something lacking from a quality control aspect, that you rarely get with a medicom figure. I collect both sideshow sw 12in and medicom 12in and personally have yet to have a defect with my medicom figures. I know they happen looking through the forums, but sideshow offerings seem more prone to difficulty, whether like the last sandtrooper ( backpack could not support the weight), or the googly eyes (paint apps) on the sdcc han and luke stormtrooper. I rather have a somewhat higher price point if it means that as collectors where not dealing with these continuos minor issues.

I agree if medicom does drop the line it would be hopeful for hot toys too pickup up the line :D

I dunno, for $180 you'd expect more than an underscaled, POS body, the Hasbro-ey rubber belts, holsters and misshapen blasters, and "stylized" likenesses. Again, they're not bad if they can be had at half the price, better if less, but not hardly worth the MSRP.

How many phase I clone has Medicom made so far, and they still haven't included the right blaster?

I almost prefer the buck to a medicom body for fragility reasons. I just snapped the shoulder on my Fett; I took extra care with this figure, I reposed him often, but never to extremes. It's really not noticeable and the figure is one of my favorites, but this event has spoiled my experience with the company. I am gonna stick mainly with Hot Toys and Sideshow.

People still like this line?

I've only just started collecting it! And yeah, I love the three figures I've bought so far. I'm only interested in their armoured figures though, not been very impressed with the human likenesses.

If they have stopped making so many, at least I might actually be able to complete a collection for once in my life! :lol

Having had some of SSC's armour and medi next to each other, I quickly opted to display the Medi's, apart from Clone Armour Kenobi Ive no SSC armour in my display,

4 Medi's 2 Marmits and 2 custom Hasblos, which would be swapped out if Medi ever did a Scout and a Snowy,

I never went down the Medi clone colour variation, just the plain white, EP1 and EP2 as has been said their a tad expensive compared to SSC

Thats not counting a Medi Jango and a Marmit Fett in there too

I'm anxiously awaiting their droids, as they are going to have light up features and a retracting middle leg for R2. I'm hoping they continue the line, especially for some more armored figs like the scout trooper, AT At driver, and snow trooper. A commander cody would be nice too.

Bump.

Being one of the few Medicom Fans around here ( i know there are plenty in the shadows) I am awaiting more from them as well. But it still seems there's no rhyme or reason to their selection. For all we know we could get Ackbar next. Which is kinda cool i think, never know what's coming. But i really want Medicom to make another Luke. After the 2004 EP6 Luke, which was good except the head, obviously they would do tons better. (and SS hasn't satisfied me on the Luke end) The droids look awesome (except price) and will eventually get 3PO at least. I loved Maul, and glad to see the new Fetts back down in price. Wonder what they'll bring us next.

I think Medi would do a fine job with

ESB Luke
Any kind of trooper
They have not touched Obi in any sense so i'm thinking they may go there.
As long as they do not go the CW route i think most will be happy.
