My e-mails haven't had the low quantity, now shipping, or coming soon sections in any of my last 3 newsletters.

The last one just had a small almost hidden like at the end that takes you to SS page with the shipping details. Not sure why they are doing it this way. I liked the old format, the new one is just lazy. No text at all. Half the fun of the NL was the text they wrote for the pieces.

The new newsletter format is here to stay for now. Unfortunately a very small percentage of newsletter members actually read the text in the newsletter, so it's been retired at this time. Seems we live in an email society that has VERY few people that actually like to read anything in an email. Nice graphics with to the point messaging is the trend that the majority of email recipients like. Should the trend shift, then more in depth text would be added back in.

How did sideshow determine that no one was reading the text in the newsletters? And that few ppl like to read anything in an email? This has become more of a Weekly Ad.

It's pretty easy to gauge when most people that talk about the newsletter directly to us say they never actually read it (it's also something that's relaid over and over by many on various message boards and social outlets when the newsletter is brought up). Most seem to breeze through it quickly to see if there's anything new picture wise. It's also pretty easy to figure out through stats as well (ie: The last 4 newsletters have performed far better stats wise then the 6 months worth of newsletters that were published prior to the full graphical ones whene compared). Graphic one off newsletters over the years in general have always done better with engagement as well (when we look at historical stats as well) but we've only just recently decided to go fully graphic with 'em.

Well that is a shame. Are the sold out and low quantity lists also gone? That and the text captions were the only reason I looked forward to the newsletter.

I miss the low quantity/sold out lists as well. Though I have to say I've been suckered into purchasing "low-quantity" items before I was quite ready only to see them no longer low quantity a month later.
