I know Jen. I just talked to him and he explained it wasn't just for the one post. The others got infractions for the discussion.

I totally agree with you on that point. I still hope she is ok though. And reading some of the other posts on this thread, it seems like she is ok because someone mentioned that her neighbor saw her recently. Maybe she just needed a break from policing these forums. She has a huge following of close friends and strong relationships that she has built up here over the years as evidence by this thread. Even though we had our fair share of disagreements, I have to admit that she worked pretty hard at monitoring the threads here at sideshow freaks. She's probably simply taking a break. Everybody needs a vacation. I have no doubt that she will miss all the friends and close bonds that she built up here and will be back soon. In other words, I don't think she is the type of person that will leave her friends cold turkey. She'll be back. It's not a matter of if, but I matter of when.

BTW. i'm the one who had a problem with the Iraqi discussion in the motorcyclist threead. i'm glad you guys got infractions for it. it was the biggest WTF moment on this board. how the hell do you go from civilian heroism to Iraq war? seriously?? enjoy your infractions.

She did over police the board. She gave infractions over very minor things. Now l know l didn't get the infraction over one comment like l thought. It was for the whole off topic discussion, so did the others who took part, so l am now fine with the infraction. We deserve it. l just thought l was the only one singled out and infracted over a single comment that was deleted, that was my only problem, now l know that wasn't the case, so it's all good.

You seem to have great difficulty moving on and dropping a subject. If you derail this thread one more time, you will get another infraction. I have asked you several times now and you just don't seem to get the hint. You do not need to respond to every post and keep bringing this up again and again.

Why is it an issue and relevant as to how Shell moderated the forum? This thread title is "Where is AdoptedScot", not "Let's whine and complain about her moderation styles". Create another thread elsewhere and let those who actually care about Shell continue along in this thread (thanks to Jen for actually enforcing this).

For all those that keep saying that maybe she moved on to other things. I hope you are right. Certain things don't add up to that being the case though. I am sure everyone has had their moments of just wanting to detach from the world for a bit, but over two months of no-contact is a bit much for a moderator and friend. I have noticed that there are so many well wishes here whenever some actor or celebrity hanger-on gets injured or passes, and folks tend to be a bit saccharine about someone that they have never had any interaction with what-so-ever. But, someone on this forum disappears for 2 months and sarcasm and caustic remarks go flying about this persons work as a moderator. Please show the same respect to someone that you know that you have done for people you do not know.

For anyone that actually knows Shell, I think we all feel this is out of character for her to disappear for this long without a word to anyone.

I hope like others - that she is doing well and perhaps has other things on her plate right now that are more of a priority. Hopefully she will be back soon or someone will hear something from her.
