Which Iron Man version should I get?

I am not into collecting Iron Man figures (more of a DC follower), but if I like the Mark VI's pre-production photos, I might be interested. Hot Toys is making one, right?

Not officially announced that I know of BUT of course they are!

Today there was a thread started about the prototype for the V being shown so the VI is coming. A lot of people are hoping it will be a DX figure too so you might just luck out with holding off and only purchasing one.

My problem with that is I like the IV better than the VI. I'm sure I will end up buying both if the VI is a DX and there are some excellent additionals included.

of the ones that have been released, if your looking for an iron man that is most iconic, go for either the original mkIII or the mkIII BD

if you want an amazingly detailed figure, that just looks awesome, get the mkI

if you want a cool looking iron man, that looks awesome, get mkII

if you dont want the above, go with the upcoming mkIV (or VI) and war machine. together they'd look awesome, and iconic, but as of right now, if i were you, i'd go for the first 2 choices, based on what you want.

i d have to say that gun metal mark III would be my pick. its sooo sweet.

the HT Mark 1 is simply a work of art. one of the best in my collection. as for an iconic form IM i'm really liking the look of the IV. i passed on III because he just looked to "thick" and clunky

If I were forced to limit myself to one armor it would be the Mark I without a doubt.

I'd recommend the Mark IV. I like the circular chest piece more than the triangular one. Also not a fan of the silver biceps on the Mark VI. It also is similar enough to the Mark III so you'd get a good representation from both movies.

That's my beef with the VI, the silver parts that are mixed in. That's why I'm going with the IV because I like the colors and I don't have to hunt down a previous released version or the BD version. I also like the added articulation and the new stand.

I might end up getting a MK VI once the official details come out. It's da** hard to resist HT's stuff, that's for sure . However, overall I want the IV for sure and that can be my definitive IM for now or ever I suppose.

One warning: once you buy a Hot toys figure - Run for the hills or have somebody control your money. Because once you get in this line of collection, it will suck you right in like a cow in a tornado. Arrggh!

You also know that HT will produce a BD MKVI, and it will probably include more features too.

That's me overall and especially if it's a figure like my first IM figure. Plus there aren't any villians in this line yet that you could display him against that would have made him battle damaged.

I kind of go case by case overall I suppose. For instance I'm passing on the T800 (at least for another day, who knows if I'll break down tomorrow) for now and waiting for the BD version of it. Pretty much the same for all the Terminator line as well because I like the Con Exclusive SC and the Final Battle John Connor too. Seems to fit in my mind to have the Terminator figures beat up from the beginning.

I should have started collecting the HT Iron Man figures when they first came out. Now I'm behind and don't have nearly enough money to get them all. But the Mark V, or the suitcase suit, is my absolute favorite. That's the one I'll be ordering.

the price of Mark I has gone up very quick and the Mark III Gunmetal is hard to find but i think it's still possible to get a Mark II ,Mark III and Mark III BD for a decent price

anyway with all the new armours coming up i'm pretty sure a lot of people will sell their previous iron man figures so i don't think it will turn out as with the hot toys predator figures which seem impossible these days to collect them all ( or you must be very very rich off course )
