Voted HT for sculpt and paint.

SS PF paint is pretty lame compared to HT or EB panting, especially for a 1/4 scale statue.

This little 1/6 always looks more realistic than a PF.

I agree with Stanlore. Just based on which best looks the part, according to the prototypes, I would say Trevor's Sideshow effort wins hands down. But if we're talking production piece, HT will probably get it despite the bulky body.

So you're saying we need the Man of Steel Pepsi Challenge?

My vote goes, of course, to John Byrne.

ahhhh...John Byrne, my favorite comic artist. excellent.

I think the PF looks the best out of those options. However, I'm a figure collector not a statue collector, so I will get the Hot Toys version and hope they tweek the body, which I have faith that they will. That PF looks amazing though, just not really my collecting cup of tea, so to speak.

One dumb *** noob question, this seems like the proper place to ask.

Are the SSC Premium format figures articulated? Or are they just a combination of sculpting and tailoring?

Mixed media statues. No movement.

I voted Hot Toys because I prefer 1:6 scale figures. Nothing against statues, I have half a dozen or so myself, but I just prefer the figures as I grew up with them as my favourite toy.

And now with figures of the quality we can get these days, I suppose it was just natural progression. That or I never really grew up! :lol

However, if we are going to go by purely the visual aesthetic and if we make the assumption that all things will be the same by the time of actual sale....Statues always look amazing and if I had to pick a statue, it would probably be the SSC. Then again, this could also be plain progression as most of my figure collection is made up of HT and SSC figures.

Body sucks but there's still articulation and superior sculpt with superior paint.

Good chance for body reworking also.

I would pick PF if it had HT's sculpt and paint. But it doesn't.

I don't see how the HT is getting so many vote. The Arnold body is way too big. Fanboy voting indeed.

I hate HT, I really do, their figures seem soulless most of the times to me, but I absolutely love this figure so far, and you can be sure that the terrible body choice will be fixed just like they did with Bane, this will be actually my 1st HTs fig, so definitely not a fanboy here.

And head sculpt-wise the HT's is by far the best one out of the bunch IMO.

Doesn't matter what the HT version looks like, it will always win on this forum.
:lol

But as they currently stand (proto) the SS one looks better, the HT body is the silliest thing I've seen them show in a long time if not ever.

I'm pretty sure the poll was referring to the product pics available, not hypothetically improved figures that don't exist yet.

Yup.

"Which does it best for you? (as they are from these pictures)"

Ok.. seriously..

The DCD statue looks like Robert Davi, & the Square-Enix one looks like a cross between Eric Roberts, & the singer from The Verve.
