Which stand do you prefer for your figures?

I think the type of stand is usually influenced by the style of the figure. Some the waist clamp works well and is hidden... others, the crotch grabber works best.

My only real complaint with the crotch grabber style is that the figures are not stable when you lift them. But, for a number of figures its preferable to lose a bit of stability in exchange for a stand that won't damage the figure (rubber gets dented easily) or doesn't cause the figure to look "bunched up".

All my 1/6th goes behind glass, i am not a fan of figure stands.

Well, my DX Joker is displayed on the base he came with but i leave the silly attachment in the box, i feel it takes away from the overall look of figures.

Ring stands. It's easier to get more dymanic poses since you can wrap 'em around larger figures' thighs (like HT Predators).

Under-the-crotch stands are also a pain with figures that have a lot going on behind them (like Pred armor, for one thing).

Oh yeah, the only stands I really don't like are the Medicom ones. I like that they are clear, but the rings don't really fit the figures half the time since only the height is adjustable.

It depends on the figure. I'd say overall the crotch bar is my favorite but with figures who have capes or robes that can cover the arm I'm fine with the C style stand arm. The one thing that does bother me about SSs metal arms is that the C clasp has a space of a CM or so between it and the vertical bars, so when I try to hide the clasp under a jacket it ends up pushing the back side of that figures jacket out. This of course makes it hard to hide the stand arm.

HT C-clasp arm doesn't have quite as much space in between it and the vertical bars, making it easier to hide.

I prefer the crotch grab stand in most instances where a ring stand would not suffice. For example, I find the crotch stands work much better with the Iron Man Mark figures.

i like the crotch stands better, the waist ones are tough to get on some figs with more accessories or gear thus limiting its poseability.

i prefer the waist ones. i am good at hiding them. i don't have a figure on display where you can see the stand. i don't like that SS is going to the crotch stands. after i accumulate enough of the crotch stands from future purchases i'm gonna offer them up for trade here for people's old waist stands that they wanna change out.

I'm game Craw. Just PM when you're ready.

The Enterbay FS-200. It's the best stand for 3 reasons.

1) It's made with a heavy metal adjustable base(so your figures won't fall over easily)
2) The grabbing claw is highly adjustable, but holds it's place.(it can be crotch grab, waist or even leg grab)
3) You can get some serious action poses with it that hold they're position.
None of which you can do with the HT or Sideshow stands.

The FS-200 gets a 5 out of 5 high fives

Crotch stands are better. Those ring ones are a hassle to put on and take off, and are just as noticeable, unless you can hide it behind a figure's jacket or something.

does anyone know where they sell stands with the peg to insert for predrilled holes on 12" figures? thanks.

Crotch stands! Ring stands are annoying and limit what you can do with a figure.
