Anything can be a collectible. It's no problem having a personal opinion about what's collectible or not. Since elementary school my mother's been calling my comics and everything else I collect "$#!+", yet a lot of my $#!+ tends to gain value. The problem is when someone forces their idea of what's collectible on someone else.

I knew some chicks in college, 4 roomies, who would make sure to take a cup from every restaurant they ate at. So they ended up with a large collection of restaurant cups. Now that wouldn't be something I'd be interested in, but I'm sure the cups they stole brings happy memories to them like my statues and comics do for me...lol

i would say 1 older figures 2 a very limited run on them, like my red skull exclusive :) also it depends what the buyer is willing to pay, it is we the consumer who really guide-shift the price on these items.

When I hear collectible, I think of something made to appeal to collectors, meaning it has something about it that is far more interesting to the more dedicated fan than the general public.

For me personally, a collectible is whatever I like and the stuff I bought cheaply at retail is as treasured as any high end, limited edition or low production run stuff.
In fact, I actually tend to enjoy limited stuff a little less, as there's a much harder chance to replace them should something happen to them.
