remember last year with the walmart stampede and the shooting at TRU? man i couldnt believe it, all i could do is laugh. look at this vid, sums it up right there:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeSgBL7gpAk

look at what happened in '96 with Tickle Me Elmo doll:

A clerk at a Hot Topic store in Forks, Washington, United States was among those injured by "Elmo-mania". A crowd of 300 stampeded into the store on 14 December 1996; spotting him with one of the remaining toys, he "was pulled under, trampled—the crotch was yanked out of [his] brand-new jeans." According to People, the clerk "suffered a pulled hamstring, injuries to his back, jaw and knee, a broken rib and a concussion[1].

and what about this

There was a Wal Mart accident November 28, 2008, involving a stampede of people rushing into the story to get the best deals before everything was bought. At least one person was confirmed dead in that stampede. An employee suffered a wrongful death after being trampled and a woman suffered a horrible miscarriage after a horde of shoppers clogged the business entryway doors at Long Island, New York Wal-Mart, according to eye witnesses.

two people were killed at a Toys "R" Us in Palm Desert according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

What's funny about the Tickle Me Elmo doll is they gave them away for free with a $100 purchase the very next year. :lol

I have sat in line for hours for toys, but they were for myself. I would never trample anyone for one though. Silly.

The trampling stories are my favorite part of Black Friday.
Maybe even my favorite part of the holiday season in general...

I am glad I don't care about going anywhere on Black Friday anymore. I went 2 years ago and that will be the last.

I used to get really into Black Friday and used to go out every year. Stores used to have great prices, giveaways and incentives. Now it's really not worth getting up early for. My neices and nephews have so much stuff, they don't appreciate the effort anyway. I have Black Friday off every year and I enjoy sleeping in. I guess I'm getting old. :lol

With the state of the economy, it ought to be 10x worse this year with everyone looking for a bargain.

I've only been out on Black Friday once, and I'll never do that again. It was disgusting. Throngs of people frantically climbing over one another in search of a deal. Merry Christmas.

I like going out on Black Friday just to watch the crazy people. I've never seen a deal I wanted on Black Friday anyways.

My favorite part about Black Friday are the fights people get in over stupid stuff.

I only go out if there is something in particular I want. I always scour the ads the week before to make a plan.

My favorite part in that video is the lady that's more concerned with getting her wig back on than actually getting up off the ground.

I used to work retail, worked like 6 Black Friday sales. Never in my life has my faith in humanity been more shaken than on those days.

I'm so glad I'm getting a job where I don't have to work Black Friday. For awhile I worked at the mall and you can imagine how horrid that was. And my most recent job was in a store that got absolutely no business on the day. Boring as hell.

As for shopping I do all mine before Thanksgiving. Its worth paying more to miss the crowds. But then I'm a misanthrope.

And to answer the question of the thread...no, it saddens me to hear of people being hurt and dying for trivial things.

I do 99% of my x-mas shoping online and I will never even go to a mall after Thanksgiving.

^haha yeah.

and yes i LOL'd at the womens wig. mustve been very embarassing!

I remember last year picking up No Country For Old Men on Blu Ray for $8.97 at Walmart. Yes the black sale makes it up here too :D The cool part of the deal was not getting close lined trying to get one. :D

yeah what the hell IS boxing day?

Boxing Day is a one day sale the day after Christmas (December 26th) where most Canadians fall even further into credit card debt with merchandise they don't need :D Most retailers will discount stuff even further to get rid of old stock ............... the day after Christmas of course :lol
