Boxing Day is a one day sale the day after Christmas (December 26th) where most Canadians fall even further into credit card debt with merchandise they don't need :D Most retailers will discount stuff even further to get rid of old stock ............... the day after Christmas of course :lol

Its really no longer "Boxing Day" anymore..usually called Boxing week now..since most of the sales are on for the week and longer in some stores.I never go out shopping during this week..just out for a coffee and a drive but, totally avoid malls around this time of year.

It's like Black Friday, only we don't riverdance on people...we canadians are too polite and proper.:)

I don't get that because it seems like most of the Canadian members here are jerks. This isn't directed at you, though.

To answer the thread, no, I'm not looking forward to people being maimed and killed for a tv or blue ray player.

I've done black/blitz friday a few times and it never (as far as I saw) got out of hand. But I went to super centers. There's no busting through the door when it first opens, just standing by the item you wish to purchase and waiting for 5am.
I would never hurt anyone over an item. Not ever! I don't understand people.

We've never had any bad incidents around me either. I've stood in line just to be disappointed, but never hurt.

from the looks of that video, it must happen more often in the "urban" areas lol.

The last couple of years my brother and I would walk about a half mile to Best Buy sometime between 11 and 1, buy a few games or BluRays or DVDs, walk back to the house and play/watch while knocking back a few beers... that's been the extent of my "Black Friday" shopping over the past few years. I don't see changes to that anytime soon.

Boxing Day is not just in Canada, we British have it too

Every where over here in Canada has British names, towns and streets, share the same traditions etc..Canada was once owned by Britain hence our closer ties to them.

America was once owned by Britain too. But we told 'em to go to hell. :flag

Anyone that attends these events are cheap ass people IMO. Not to mention the dumb ***** that camp out starting at noon the day before on Thanksgiving. Hello! Spend that time with your family and not worry about saving $10 on a DvD player. Every year I have to drive buy Best Buy and look at the idiots out in the cold. So ^^^^ing stupid. :duh

Years ago I would tell you that you were wrong, but not anymore. Used to be that stores had really good deals worth waiting for. Now it's mostly just DVDs that you wouldn't normally buy anyway going for $3-$5 and $20 off a dvd player.

Stores used to also have freebies. Those are gone too. I miss the old days. :(

I got my LCD 32" panasonic tv for under $400 last year. And a Sony blu Ray for less than $150. If the price is right, it's worth the hassle for a couple hours.

This is Black Friday/Boxing Day/Christmas shopping/etc............
