There is an Alien queen bust in my house.
It is gigantic and that fact is what makes it worth its value.
But I've heard from people who have bought and own the 1:1 full scale predator bust, and have also seen the alien queen bust in person, and they say the predator bust was more desirable to them.

It all depends on your desire for display, and what you can personally budget for certain personally-desired pieces of art/memorabilia.

The fact is that Stan Winston Studio designed this and Sideshow is selling it. The fact is that if this doesn't live up to standards of quality, NO one will want it.

for the money you are paying, you're going to be REALLY picky on what you get when you get it, but if you are willing to see what you get for your money, then chances are you're going to like it automatically.

The only time you'll question your purchase of it is months down the road when you look at it after you've looked at it a hundred times, and you'll think "wow, was this really worth all that?"

Then you ought to think how you'll feel if you don't have it anymore, and usually it's an unpleasant feeling because you like it so much, deep down.

I really hope someone on the board will have the exclusive.

This exclusive mask really helps sell it to me. If I could not display it with the mask on, it would have absolutely no interest to me, at all.

If money wasn't an option....If I was Donald Trump or Bill Gates...I'd be going " GREAT!...I'll have 2..1 to display, and 1 to keep boxed.."

But, unfortunately, money IS a concern...And when it IS a concern, you start, (as you said..), nit-picking, and thinking.."man, why does it have to be SO expensive.."....Is it worth that much???

I have already stated MY opinion on that matter, 4-5 times...and I know some people out there, with nothing better to do...are probably counting again...So I'd better shut-up!:rolleyes :rolleyes

Being someone who has worked for SWS on 7 separate projects, I can only say that if Stan Winston Studio were to produce these to the level that people are expecting, you'd probably be looking at paying 5-10 times the $1000 price tag. Fell lucky that they were involved at all...

Also, considering how many of you have probably bought numerous kits and statues of the Predator in the past only to turn around and buy a "better" one later, we should feel lucky that you'll never find another "better" one after this!!!

Nemo, the way I understand it is that only the regular version will be available through retailers. The exclusive is only available through SS site directly. BTW, the cancellation fee only applies to Flexpay orders. Of course, you're probably like me, it was flexpay or noway

Curious on this: Why does everybody prefer the mask to the
unmasked predator? I like both equally, but think that there
will be much more color and detail in the unmasked face.

Either way, I'll be VERY happy to have BOTH heads on display. :yay

EASY to answer question.. very easy.

Most of the time in the movies, the character has the mask on, so it is what people get used to.

Second and also just-as-valid point: The mask adds an atmosphere of mystery. Can anyone who can remember their first time seeing a predator movie (except AvP) say they were NOT dieing to find out what this creature looked like underneith the mask? The mask adds all that appeal!

And the fact it's interchangable.. *drool*

Truthfully, I think the unmasked pred. looks pretty gros/ugly (I know it's supposed to look like that of course) to display in a home, I'm sure it's beautifull to some people, but for me it's just something I prefer not to look at every day, while the masked version makes it a much more 'normal' statue...

I plan on displaying with the mask on also for the electronic features with the light up targeting system. I am absolutely ecstatic though that SS and SWS have given us the ability to display both heads with the additional stand. That way I can enjoy both versions.
